Normally rewards are a 10% bonus but until 12/30/2022, you can get 20% off your gift card (which is 25% added value to the card). So in other words, you can get a $100 GameStop Gift Card for just $80 of your Cashback Rewards. Lowest card value is $15, highest is $200 but you can get multiple ones.

Flip this however you want:
  • Effectively get 20% off eShop, PSN, Xbox cards
  • Wait for good deals and pay with this to effectively get 20% off
  • Buy some overpriced regular items and effectively get 20% off to make them almost normal price.
The possibilities are limitless. Well, as limitless as their stock in your store....

It's called "at a 20% discount" or "with a 25% added value", to be precise.
I'll make this very clear for you unlike the others. You can only buy digital currency gift cards with the gamestop gift card: PSN, Xbox, eShop, Steam, Fortnite, etc. You cannot buy other types of gift cards: Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Doordash, etc.
You can use Gamestop GC's for Nintendo eshop cards.. pretty much all I use GS GC's for

Nice discover isn't my normal everyday go to card anymore (shifted to AMEX platinum) but right now it is because of the 5% cash back on digital wallet purchases until December 31. I'm at $50 cash back so far but have $60 more I could potentially make. Goal would be to get a $100 GS stop card to make a PSN card for around $80. Or maybe I'll get a small steam card as well because I want final fantasy vi pixel remastered and that doesn't seem to be going on sale.

I'm also a GameStop pro members so I can use my $5 monthly reward for an eShop card. It's essentially a pay $20 for a $60 game yearly

Is this like the amazon deals were you can just use $0.01 of your discover rewards to get the full discount

..or do you literally have to use the full $80 in rewards to get the discount?

You are trading in your rewards for a gift card so you will be using the rewards as your payment not the credit card.

I think it's actually using $80 of your discover bonus towards the card and not like that Amex Amazon bonus you're referring to. I can't do it because I already redeemed my cash back a few days ago as statement credit

Why statement credit? That gives back the least value. There's so many gift card choices from Macys to Apple etc

25% added value = 20% discount
This is usually the case for most Discover gift cards purchased with cash back.

I don't see the 25% added value. Purchasing a $200 gift card for $160 is 20% off. Wasn't any better than that at checkout.

$160 is 80% of $200.

200 * 0.8 = 160

But...

$200 is also 25% more than $160.

160 * (1 + 0.25) = 200

So saying you are getting a 20% discount on $200 or that you are getting 25% added value on $160 are both correct.

Math.

Lol...thanks for that explanation followed by one word. Sass

I can confirm that, unlike the Amazon deal, the entire purchase amount must come from your Discover rewards balance.

I bought three Gamestop gift cards (e-certificates) . I later used them to buy Xbox gift cards. Two transactions went through. One was rejected due to payment error (maybe a system error).

I can verify that you can buy Xbox gift cards 20% off via this deal.

The title should just say save 20% because that's what matters the most. It doesn't really matter what the added value is, but if that's the information people want, then that should just be in the post description.

Besides this promo do they always offer a lot more on gift cards throughout the year ?

Would be a fine deal if I didn't redeem my rewards for cash immediately.
