Normally rewards are a 10% bonus but until 12/30/2022, you can get 20% off your gift card (which is 25% added value to the card). So in other words, you can get a $100 GameStop Gift Card for just $80 of your Cashback Rewards. Lowest card value is $15, highest is $200 but you can get multiple ones.

Flip this however you want:
  • Effectively get 20% off eShop, PSN, Xbox cards
  • Wait for good deals and pay with this to effectively get 20% off
  • Buy some overpriced regular items and effectively get 20% off to make them almost normal price.
The possibilities are limitless. Well, as limitless as their stock in your store....

I'll make this very clear for you unlike the others. You can only buy digital currency gift cards with the gamestop gift card: PSN, Xbox, eShop, Steam, Fortnite, etc. You cannot buy other types of gift cards: Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Doordash, etc.

Correct, I'll be capped at $75 for the quarterly, but I'm only $15 into the digital wallet quarterly. The $50 total I'm in includes that plus $35 I had from before. So I have another up to $60 I can do.

Does anyone know how many payment methods / gift cards will game stop accept per transaction?

I am thinking about Ryzen 9 5950X or Ryzen 7 5800X3D. These are >$300 items and if I am only allowed to use one or two gift cards at most, then it's not that sweet.

i mainly use it during the holiday season for 5% over the years and now have like $300 just waiting for a deal like this. I'm still debating pulling the trigger though because holding giftcard of a specific store and wait for a deal is not really my thing lol

Lessons from this thread:

  • Do not redeem Discover for cash or statement credit, you get more for gift card redemption (exception being money is tight to the point you're having trouble paying your bill).
  • PlayStation, GameStop, Xbox gift cards are regularly on sale from Dollar General, eneba and other outlets (we cleaned up in October and November at Dollar General), so use this on gift cards that are harder to come by at a 20% discount.

I just discovered (no pun intended) about a week ago that Discover didn't give me ANY cashback on the PayPal/Restaurants back in the summer. I downloaded my statements and screenshots as well as the terms in case they come back and try to deny it after I contact them. Nothing I did was against the terms and I hit the cap in one month. It was a mix of PayPal and restaurants, probably a few hundred at restaurants, the rest PayPal sending money and paying for retail.

Anyone else have issues with not receiving quarterly cashback before?

Right. Me too. Learned from my mistakes last year. I still have 300 bucks from target, 200+ from GameStop, and another 450 in amazon GC. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ The target is the worst part. I have their credit card and they don't give y the 5% if u use the giftcard. I have to fight tooth and nail with CS for them to refund me with 5% using my GCs.

They don't really advertise it, all you can do is check periodically in redemptions sorting by % value added. Most of the time their 20% is on some restaurant such as Red Robin which I use often. They even offer 5% additional on Amazon GC if you want raw value. This GameStop is very easy to use if you need virtual currency for gaming so no mental gymnastics to get value. 80 CB for 100 GC is about 6.25% realized cashback value. I don't recall the last time Discover actually did GameStop so it's a great find.

Don't know... 5%-6.25% is pretty competitive. When it's Amazon quarterly it's pretty easy to just frontload the 1500 and hit the cap spreading it into GCs. Between Freedom and Discover that is at least half year coverage of 5% for Amazon and Paypal, Capping Paypal and Amazon via Discover is 150 bucks CB right there, which can be stretched further with bonuses like this deal. Discover has been very consistent offering Amazon for Q4 for the holidays so takes out a bit of the guessing game. When Chase PYB was broad though, that was 7.5% CB... good times.

I haven't - for Paypal that is odd given it is auto tagged appropriately. My only suspect is not having the bonus activated for the Quarter. Still scummy that it's not an automatic procedure.
