I hung one of these next to my drill/driver rack, within easy reach of my workbench. I didn't think I would use it much, but I find myself using it quite often for quick clean-ups after handsaw use or drill use. If I didn't mount it within arms reach of my bench, I would probably not use it at all. I have never used the long floor cleaner extension as I have a shop vac for those clean ups.

Pair this vacuum with the cyclone attachment and it's very nice around the house. Gets used daily at my house. https://www.makitatools.com/produ...s/199553-5

Love mine. This isn't a shop vac or a floor vac, it has its uses.

The plastic...

This vac is ok, but the materials are a poor choice.

I was hoping they'd fix the problem with the 40v, but it seems this (and other non-powertools like the leaf blower) are even thinner plastic than the 18v version.

Nothing against makita. But they aren't known for vacs. Such is the case with all the power tool companies though. They might make great dust extractors, but their other cordless vacs are usually disappointing.

There's much better stick vacs out there. Keep an eye out for the Shark Stick vacs when they go on sale. I picked one up with battery and a bunch of attachments at home Depot for $130 a while back, and it's amazing. Multiple filtration, hepa, and the batteries actually last a while.

Still shows as active for me. I got this vac as part of a larger Makita set and for cleaning up small messes its okay but if you aren't on the Makita system for other tools its not something I'd recommend.
