The XL is $299.99 on sale from $499.99… seems like the better deal for a massive 36 inch fire pit. Bigger than the Solo Stove Yukon that's 27 inches (the OG was 30 inches).

I just go the XL last week and have it assembled. Its good quality and heavy stainless. I think its going to be a good deal for sure. Its rainy here now or I would have fired it up to try it out. It comes with a removable tray for cleanup, a cover, a lid, and a screen for keeping the wood popping from burning you.

I read a review that said the specs on the XL are misleading. It's 36 inches wide from the outside edge to outside edge, but the inside diameter (where are you burn the word) is only 25 inches wide. This smaller, non-XL version's inside diameter is 20.5 inches. So, this smaller version is supposedly only 5 inches less in diameter than the XL. I'd love it if somebody who has the XL could confirm this.

That's correct. The design has a ring around the top that looks nice and helps with lifting it, etc. Its still big. You have plenty of room in the XL for a good fire. I would say the smaller one is more like a Solo Stove Bonfire size and the Xl is closer to the Yukon. Both are just considerably cheaper. The concepts for limited smoke are the same in either of them.

Thanks for confirming! I'm leaning towards an SS Bonfire for portability, since it's only 20lbs. These Sam's Club models are fairly heavy (52lbs and 79lbs respectively). If you're not moving them often or have someone to help lift, then no problem, but felt the weight difference was worth calling out. Thanks again!

I'm on the fence between the two. Which one would you get?

Good point. I would not want to haul the XL around. I had an existing fire pit that I built years ago. Its the kit you can get from Lowes home improvement with the stack stone and fire ring. We love it but the smoke is a challenge on every fire. This XL fits inside of it very well and looks like it was made to be there. Smilie I don't plan on moving it.
