Directions to convert this to other formats if you don't have or want to read it using a Kindle:
1. Download Calibre (latest version)
2. Download and install appropriate Calibre Plugins to remove DRM
3. Download and install older version of Kindle for the desktop
4. Sign-in to Amazon within the installed Kindle for desktop
5. Download your Kindle book to your desktop
6. Open the downloaded book in Calibre (automatic DRM removal will occur)
7. Convert to whatever format you want (I choose PDF)
8. Profit

See directions here: https://www.cloudwards.net/remove...dle-books/

I followed the direction in the above link. Took about 10 minutes to setup and 1 minute to convert to PDF.
Don't forget to disable auto update in the desktop kindle app or it will update itself to the latest version and this won't work anymore.
I got a hard copy of this book as a homeowner/diyer and paid full price for it. Definitely handy book to have around. I find myself referring to it whenever I start planning for a project.

I have another comment.

If you rewire something on your own, does it have to be inspected by the county? Especially if you're new to this and it's kind of an experiment?
Use a professional electrician. Having incompetent government grifters inspecting your property is asking for trouble, fines, fees, mistakes etc.

Finally bit on this, though I don't know why I waited. I have so many no rush shipping credits just sitting there and expiring, why not?

In addition to the great advice that artcab already gave you, we have 3 switches in our house that do nothing as well. But I know why—each one is in a bedroom with a ceiling fan. But my wife objects to ceiling lights, so those fans never got light kits installed. But if they did, those switches would have a job to do…. Long shot?

That's a good call but our rooms have no lights. I've never seen anything like it til we bought this house so I was sure they were for the sockets but they didn't work. I got high and forgot to check. Will be doing tom and updating lol

My cat woke me up at 3am, came across this post and got it. Started reading few pages and this book is Amazing. I strongly believe that anything you do you need to have your basics strong and then you can build it off from there, this book seems to do the job. Yeah you can watch YouTube and get the job done right but you ain't getting your basics in 15 mins. Now if someone can point me to similar book for wood work I would appreciate it.

When I'm doing wiring, the last thing I want to drag around is a fckn Kindle!
Get a large paper book and also the code book covering your area. Watch several youtube videos and see how they differ. Some may not meet code but some may have tools that you will want to buy.
I don't think you use a smart phone?

You are right, only smart men read brochures and not try to reverse engineer. 😉 when instructions are clear written with pictures.

I learned wiring before the so-called "smart" phone era. Repair books are handy to have nearby while doing the job. Phones are best in airplane mode.

I used to get great advice on with Google and YouTube, but in recent years I spend twice as much time trying to determine if the advice is sound, especially with YouTube. You can get hurt following a lot of advice on YouTube these days. Thanks OP, used some expiring credits.
This is true, but how do you know the advice in this book is sound? The problem is people do things different ways, sometimes there's more than one right way. Then when it comes to wiring many states, cites, counties and municipalities have different and confusing codes.

For instant I was told over and over again online that when I wired my hot tub I needed to install a "Disconnect Box" or shut-off box outside near, but no closer than 5 feet, from the hot tub. When I contacted a local electrician aquatint he told me "not according to local code". I was attacked online from some for claiming this. Turns out he was right. Local code does not require a Disconnect Box be installed for single family dwellings in my area.

I'm an auditor by profession, and this is same situation for many laws, rules and regs where one jurisdiction or body establishes different rules or guidelines than another.

What I can say, and notes right on the cover, this book follows the 2020 National Electrical Code Requirements and is current with 2020-2023 Electrical Codes (the NEC is revised every 3 years). Most local codes follow the NEC, but there can be variances. The local code always takes precedence over the NEC when there are differences, so be sure to check with your local building department for the specific code requirements for your situation and it states this clearly in the book as well.

With that said and to answer your question, I am fairly confident that this book's advice is sound.

Good instructions and they do work, thanks! but that link seems to be dead.
The link isn't dead. For some reason it's not working appropriately on SD. Here's the link again: https://www.cloudwards.net/remove...dle-books/

If it doesn't work google "convert kindle to pdf cloudwards" and the link should show up.
