Bi amping is using 2 amplifiers (or 2 individual channels of amplification) for the same speaker (provided it has 2 sets of red and black binding posts). So rather than running ~70 watts to one set of posts and using a jumper to connect those posts to the other posts, spreading the wattage between 2 crossovers, one for lows and one for mids and highs, you would run ~70 watts to EACH set of binding posts, so each crossover gets 70 watts to fuel lows, and mids and highs. When using an AVR that can 'only' provide 30-100 watts to a speaker, biamping can provide needed headroom to the speaker so that it can handle all the dynamic highs and deep impactful lows at reference volumes without dipping or clipping or otherwise. I highly recommend biamping power-hungry towers (especially if they're low sensitivity)if you're only using an AVR to power them (and not a powerful external amp) assuming you have the extra amplification channels available and your AVR has the capability. Be careful not to confuse biamping with biwiring, which is almost always useless and a waste of money.

Guys. Is there a possibility to Connect fronts with BiAMP and then use zone terminals to connect atmos speakers?

Or other question - considering fronts in Biamp- how many additional channels can expect-a4a drive considering having additional amplifier?

Nothing as it sounds good but I just have some old mirage floor standing speakers hooked up to it now. I was debating on keeping the B&W anniversary edition speaker and not unboxing them. I have tried the B&W center speaker and like it. I also have tried a definitive tech cs9060 and while it sounds good the built in amp going out scares me. I'm just trying to figure out where I should go and if I should keep the B&W and return the DT Center speaker and 6100. Would I see a big sound difference with this Yamaha over the 6100 when hooking up all the B&W speakers? Yeah I'm not one that normally uses the sound correction in systems so not sure I would get much our of Dirac live but this all becomes interesting trying to find the best sound.This all started off as just find good receiver with 2.1 HDMI and good sound to a better system. I also ordered a Monolith 12 inch subwoofer to replace my Klipsch R10 SW. This all started when my Yamaha VR 673 had handshake problems with my 77 LG C1 TV. When playing anything whether going through the receiver Apple TV or PS5 Hooked directly to the TV. The VR 673 doesn't have HDMI 2.1 so I had to run PS5 to TV and then used receiver ARC channel to pass sound back from TV. The Apple TV worked fine before with the VR 673 with an older TV so I knew I needed a new receiver to work with my new TV.

I bought the same receiver in a refurb, and it's been utterly flawless. I was a little skittish because I had read about some issues, but I have experienced absolutely zero issues.
It did already have the HDMI board swap done.

It doesn't sound as good as my 10 plus year old 140 wpc Onkyo but I needed something to switch 4k signals.

I wonder if a Sharc or something similar would work. I keep thinking about getting a new receiver for proper 4K, but I can't part with my good old Onkyo receiver. Newer receivers aren't in the same SQ ballpark unless I want to spend a few thousand.

It's been such a headache from me my family hates it when they can't get it to handshake. I've tried every combination of settings and cable switching and trying different inputs to no avail. I bought 8k cables which didn't fix it so I bought different 8k cables still no dice. Idk any more. I reached out to Yamaha support by email and haven't heard anything back. It's been really frustrating. When I can get it to work it sounds awesome and I like the app. But I just want something that actually works now.

Sadly, I think the only thing that is going to "fix" the situation is spending a couple grand on a receiver comparable to the old Onkyo.

This one just sounds harsh and metallic by contrast.

With that said, I spent so little on this one I can unload it down the road a bit and upgrade when prices pull back some from all this chip stuff.

I don't know how good a deal this is, but I currently have a Yamaha TSR- 7810 running my entertainment center after only using Marantz receivers for decades and I'm very pleased with it, and if I needed a new receiver I'd put Yamaha near top of my list...

You may be overthinking this.
I would recommend taking a listen to everything and if you find something you are happy with you are done.

IMO nothing tells you what the "best sound" is to you better than you listening for yourself!
