The extra weight but even more so the unnatural feel and placement of the side thumb buttons was a deal breaker for me. YMMV of course.

Anyone have a suggestion for its replacement when it eventually dies?
I got this to replace my G602 that is having double click issues. Short answer is yes imo. They are similar in form and function. The lighter weight is less fatiguing. I do like the metal scroll wheel and the smooth scrolling toggle of the G604. I do need to get used to the thumb buttons since it is now concave vs it being convex on the G602.
I plan to get replacement switches for the G602 and swap them out. It'll be a side project. I'd keep using the G602 if it weren't for the double click issue. I'm just hoping there will be an optical switch version of the G6XX series or Logitech needs to make their mice more easily repairable.
