It's crazy how the build quality has improved on the newer figures since the '80s when I was playing with them. This first Devastator/Tonkanator was flimsy as all get-out and the figures regularly fell off the cheap connectors that held together the large robot.

Now, everyone leaves bad reviews. Back then, I'd play with a rickety figure at a friend's and STILL ask for it for Christmas. It's what we had. šŸ¤£

This was one of my big Christmas gifts when I was a kid and they were Decepticons and a fantastic green color. I don't like this yellow Tonka set at all.

For $44, yes. It is the same quality as the older G2 model. I bought this with a 25% off the original $105 price and 5% red card discount and it was still overpriced. This was back in October. I just chatted with them and got a price adjustment. I can't use this new coupon with my older order, so I might just return it and reorder to save $10. Dunno if it's worth my time though.

I couldn't figure out why such a love/hate for this piece in the comments until I thought about it more. As a child of the 80's and a fan of the G1 toys, this is a no-brainer at this price, warts and all. I know it's going to be rickety just like it was 40 years ago as a kid and that's exactly what I want. If you're looking for a more 80's cartoon accurate model you can pose, you may want to steer away from this. I collect both G1 toy accurate and the remakes I can pose so it honestly depends what you're looking for.
