The XT series doesn't prioritize video. The closest you can get in the series is the XT4, which added more video capabilities and features but received mixed reviews because the XT cameras focus more on still images. If you want video in mind check out the XH series.
If OP already knew the XT5 wasn't video focused, I'm sure they know about the XH series. They're asking how the XT5 video is regardless not being video focused.
The 16-80 is not an "upgraded" version of the 18-55. Both are still sold in parallel.
I didn't say it was "THE" kit lens, I just said it was "a" kit lens.. As in the T5 comes "bundled" with the lens, in either the 18-55 or 16-80. Neither are capable of taking full advantage of the T5 sensor.
Yes it doesn't fully resolve the 40mp sensor but as far as kit lenses go it's rather nice, it's not a replacement for any of my fast primes or anything but it's quickly filled the role of my "hiking" lens, it offers a great field of view in a fairly compact form and takes pretty sharp images for a cheap kit zoom. F 4 isn't the fastest but it's enough to keep my iso low enough even in relatively low lighting. It's probably my least favorite Fuji lens I own, but it's also on my camera a whole lot for the versatility. I was primes only for most of my photography experience but I've definitely found some use for this lens, makes me wonder how well that tamron 16-300mm would do for me though, that would be a true all in one lens for hiking-outdoors if it keeps up well.

A lens that costs $800 isn't a "cheap kit lens". It's just for folks that couldn't afford the 16-55 for $300 more (which can use the full T5 sensor). Yes, the 16-55 is slightly bulkier and lacks OIS, but modern bodies like the T5 have IBIS anyway.
Fuji's marketing of 'our old lenses aren't good enough for our new camera' is going to bite them in the butt in the end. Throwing doubts into their old lenses, some of which are favorites of many.. if you really want to fully use 40mp of their new cameras then you might as well get full frame lenses and use adapter to mount it on fuji camera.. imagine Zeiss or Sigma Art lens lenses which work fine on 60+ mp cameras..
In the end I hope this tactic will backfire.. as some reviews have been saying old lenses, despite not as sharp (and not by much), have better colors and looks of the newer lenses… this is important especially many people chose Fuji for its Film-like images…
Dec 29 but I called Amazon and asked if I can get silver instead since that's in stock. The rep told me to place another order with regular price and once I receive it she'll refund me the difference. She said she made a note in the system…. So I ordered a silver one with the lens.. let's hope it'll work out in the end

This is order-able again but my ship date is Dec 24, which will allow me time to decide if I want to keep it. I have an X-T3 currently and am trying to decide if it's worth the upgrade. I really wish the silver model was at this price.

Very nice. It never hurts to ask.
My estimate is Dec 16-20. Hasn't shown as shipped yet though
