Anyone worry about spiders crawling on top of your head with these? Lol I know it's unlikely but I feel like bugs can next there and I'm arachnophobic
Not until now. Smilie

Good deal. You would probably spend more in wood and fasteners trying to replicate.
I'd jump on it but my garage ceiling is not high enough for this.
Same. I have an 8ft ceiling in my garage. Not worth it but envious of those that have these.

I just installed two of the 3'x6' sets by myself yesterday. It took several hours, but well worth it though. I have a finished ceiling so finding studs and double/triple checking measurements is what took the most time. If I had a 2nd person or another ladder it would have gone much faster.

We added a 2'x8' variation of this brand in a tight space in our garage three years ago. Great addition and still holding strong!

I've been looking at something similar in different brands. Anyone know how this compares with Fleximount and Versarac by NewAge?
Have Fleximount and they have terrible customer service. I initially ordered two sets during a black friday a couple years ago and it was a nightmare trying to get them refunded because it was really flimsy and flexes easily.

Saferacks is much sturdier and solid feeling. This is the best bang for your buck you'll get if you're looking for 4x8 racks.

I would love to buy this but 1) fear of spiders making a living here like someone said 2) fear of it falling on my kids one day 3) I don't have a house or a garage
4) you don't have a Costco membership

How do these compare to vs the standing shelfs?
This is going to be stupid hard to store and retrieve things. Think about that 1 bin in the back middle. It's going to be there forever. However it doesn't take as much of a footprint as the others.

I have plenty of floor standing racks. Don't get the ones that have open wire (like a grill rack) so hard to keep things standing up.

If you're worried about bugs, spray commercial grade insecticide like "Bifen IT" that you can buy a small size for $10 on eBay. That's all we use for warmer months to keep ants and other bugs away including ticks. The same stuff pest control companies use supposedly. We had zero ants last year and bugs in general. You'll just need a sprayer but it is odorless and very easy to apply.

I afraid cars can't quite duck. The only space I have is where our bikes are hanging now and it's already tight, can't lower them another 18-24".
Thanks for the advice though.

I bought these from Costco probably 5 years ago… worth every penny. Very sturdy and easy enough for a dolt like me to install them lol

Not really…. I just made a garage shelf that's 3' by 15' using 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 for under $200. Using 1/2 inch plywood.
