The problem is that the heat issues aren't just a comfort thing. An overheating USB will throttle speeds, and can damage equipment. Maybe they've fixed the throttling (or maybe not), but the old versions of these would drop to speeds well below USB 2 standards after a minute or two of being plugged in.
Why bother with all that? Samsung drives are the gold standard at this point, and aren't much more money.

But they often go on sale for $24.99 and were $22.99 before that, so I'd wait for it to drop again if you aren't in need of one right this minute as these Sandisks have heat issues.
