These combo devices are not a great idea IMO.

You need to put the CO detector on the bottom level, nearer the floor (furnaces are usually in the basement, and CO doesn't necessarily rise up). Smoke detectors generally need to be placed near the ceiling.

CO - mixes in with air fairly well..doesnt necessarily rise or fall. So a mix of detectors on ceiling and plugins would offer best protection
