https://www.power-tech.com.tw ... also reviews states that clamping voltage on new unit is 400 / 500+ and not 330V.
Does anyone have a decent alternative for one with not a bright light?
Has anyone had good success blocking out the light?

"as previously noted, the older models had 330v clamping voltage, the newer ones all have 400/500/500v ratings."

Seems as though different batches seem to have different clamping voltages.

I was going to pick one up for the 65" LG C1 bedroom TV I have on order from Amazon, but I really don't like a nightlight in the bedroom. Will probably get an Anker or one of the better looking 4000J Chinese ones with lots of MOVs instead.

However, don't buy Anker or the no name Chinese surge protectors. Anker is a good company but their surge protectors aren't even certified as surge protectors. I would not buy something like that. With the no name Chinese brands, you don't even have the backing of a legit company like Anker and on top of that their surge protection claims could be dubious. There is no way of knowing how well they actually work.
I recommend sticking with well known brands like Tripp Lite, Belkin, or APC. They also usually offer some kind of equipment warranty which gives you more peace of mind.
