I don't get it.. are you upset it went on sale? Why is it overpriced? This is the pro version with heatsink and Samsung is one of the best out there for nvme SSD.
It's so odd that they show the MSRP as $129......America is doomed from overpriced b.s.
I swear a drive like this just months ago was far higher.
That's cause the new 990 Pro came out so naturally this got marked down. 1TB 990 Pro is $170 MSRP and will likely hit around this price next year same time too according to the pricing trend for it.

No in saying I RARELY saw it around the MSRP of $129. It seems a few weeks/month back it was posted on here well above that MSRP.

990 Pro is a lot faster when transferring larger files. Will have to wait a year for prices to fall to current 980 Pro level. https://youtu.be/MijTDA6NXwA

Under what circumstances is this heatsink version better to have than the non-heatsink version? For example, is this something that will not fit in a typical laptop?

Prices finnaly dropping. Think we can get 16-32TB fast SSDs at reasonable prices. Not these scalper prices controlled by the memory cartels?

Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought four years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 8-128TB.

Digitimes: Samsung new NAND flash capacity coming online in 2H21 may worsen price falls.

Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high prices because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drive yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 4 years.

If your more budget motherboard doesn't have a heat sink for nvme drives. My last 2 mobo asrock and asus both have heatsink covers that don't fit this version anyway. The asrock even had a little fan just for nvme slot.
