Have been a Kinvara guy for probably 10 years...I'll happily give the Shift a try at this price. Anybody have any experience with both these models? Great deal - thank you!
I recently purchased a pair of Kinvara 12s. Went for my first run on Saturday. During the run I felt great but a few hours afterwards my lower calves became sore and stiff. One leg was more sore than the other. My calves are still shot and it's been 36 hours since the run.

I read that this is super common with the Kinvara and most people decide to shelf the shoes and not run in them anymore. It's claimed that Kinvaras can cause Achilles tendinopathy.

Did you experience any soreness or other problems when you started running in the Kinvara?

If it's in your price range, Promo Code 25CW-THX22-1SHBT works on the Kinvara, brings the total to $72 + $5 shipping & tax

No deals on stability models? 😢
They just sent out an email for 50% off Omni, which is stability. Also 50% off Hurricane, which is cushioned stability, I believe.

Something is definitely up with that discrepancy. Most of the Saucony sales since the Spring have been concentrated on the Endorphin line.

No sizes left for me. Looks like I'll have to wait till next year for their Endorphin 3 series sales! Hopefully it will reach these prices too!

!!! This is me exactly. Been wearing Kinvaras for 10 years and the Kinvara 12s immediately felt stiffer and I quickly developed issues with my achilles. I took a break, recovered, and tried them out again and immediately brought all the pain back. Just running in my Triumphs now as I contemplate my future.

Kinvara is a flatter less cushioned shoe designed for more speed work. If you've never run in those types of shoes before they put a lot more strain on the calf and the Achilles which attaches the calf to the heel. Takes some time to get used to them but it's possible.

Was able to nab one (women's) in my size and in a black colorway. Must be my lucky day!

I don't need more shoes, but for this price, I snagged a Shift in my size (women's). For those who aren't familiar with Saucony, I have run in them for years along with Hoka, ASICS, Brooks, Nike. The Saucony are some of my favorites and with the sales of late, I'll choose Saucony every day. My total was $29.68 with tax and free shipping.

I don't find the K12 overly stiff. Compare it to a Mach 4/SS/5 and you can tell the difference, not just with the twist and flex tests but also the ride. The K12 is nimble and according to Saucony it's a return to the more minimalist roots of earlier Kinvara models.

I'm a little perplexed that as a longtime user if Kinvara shoes that you are experiencing soreness issues very similar to my own. I've been running in highly structured rigid high stack shoes for the past 5 years. So I'm inclined to attribute this soreness to lower limb weakness. But that would not appear to be the cause of your issue.

I enjoyed my (one) run in the K12. I'm a longtime user of stability shoes. So the Kinvara was breath a fresh air. It was so light and nimble compared to my bulky heavy Hoka Gaviotas.

I'll probably pull back on running in the Kinvara for a few weeks. Then I'll very slowly buildup distance in it by following that doctor's advice at the University of Florida's running lab. It might take me 8 months to just ramp up to being able to do a 3mi run without getting DOMS afterwards or aggravating my Achilles. If that fails, oh well.
