If I didn't already have 4 boxes I'd buy more. Clearly I need more dogs 🤔

Unless they changed their packaging, the cookies come in 1 big bag that is only folded down. The bag is NOT properly sealed. For me, this was a deal breaker. If you are ok with that, this is a good price

Is your concern freshness/spoilage, breakage or something else?

The popular Milkbone brand just puts the biscuits in boxes. No bags. No seals. My mom found moth-like insects flying out of the box when she opened it.

Someone pointed out that Mother Hubbard biscuits, including this product, contain an unsafe ingredient, molasses.

"Molasses is a byproduct of sugar extraction and is not a dog-friendly component; hence, excessive molasses eating can cause dental damage, stomach problems, obesity, and diabetes in dogs. Furthermore, some molasses brands contain artificial sweeteners, which can be hazardous to dogs if taken in large quantities." – Google Search top result

All of what you mentioned. Who knows how long and where the boxes have been stored as well as the storage conditions. I just avoid those treats.

Nothing against their treats. I buy their other treats that are in the 8oz bags. Just not this one.

I guess this is batter than the dog cookies from Costco. They are just in a cardboard box without any bag at all.

Understood. I also find it unsettling that no where on the Amazon page is the ingredients and food analysis listed. I had to go to Petco.com to get the deets. Turns out Mother Hubbard uses molasses which is a backdoor way to introduce sugar and other sweeteners into dog treats. It's unfortunate. I'll stick with Blue Buffalo's biscuits.

Just kind of a heads up, these looked ok until I seen they were crunchy. I've stopped giving my dogs hard treats especially bone shaped ones. Turns out they are a really big choking hazard for dogs. If you love your pets give them something soft instead. One of my dogs nearly died last year after she choked on a bone and fell over, I had to do heimlich on her to get it out. That is one experience I never want to encounter again

Don't know but that the top Google search result said molasses was considered unhealthy for dogs.

I checked the bags for two recently purchased Blue Buffalo moist treats. One had cane sugar listed as an ingredient. One of our dogs got sick after eating. Diarrhea. No GI issues experienced with the other treat that had no sugar.

Pet owners are more sensitive and cautious about what they feed their dogs these days. I remember back before the Chinese tainted dog treat controversy (2003-2005) that it was common for us to feed our dogs Purina Beggin Strips and other sugary treats. Now we avoid that garbage. I guess even Blue Buffalo can't be completely trusted either.

OMG that is horrible. My pug sometimes sounds like he's choking on treats, now I'm terrified to give him any.

It has me terrified too. I threw out the entire box of treats when it happened and switched them to some soft small beef bites. They don't get them that often now but they eat good food. Just felt like a warning was necessary for other people to keep in mind as to avoid something like this. If you guys look online for homemade biscuit recipes, you can make them some soft homemade treats. As long as it doesn't have xylitol.

My dogs love these treats and eat them with no problem. Sometimes I break them in two.

I had bugs everywhere in my Milkbone box. Not blaming Milkbone at all, I just let the product linger too long in my garage. Sealed storage will eek out some extra shelf life!
