And ever since I learned that trick about turning the tool perpendicular to the edge that you are nailing (since the nails are not round but are actually rectangular, they tend to wander left and right not up and down), I have not gotten a single nail blowout

This is a pin nailer not a brad
If you were going for a perfect natural wood finish you could carefully use a small amount of stainable filler, sand, etc. But for painted finishes generally not necessary.
