wiz is not a random vendor, they are a big brand, though they make lights under a different name, I think both Philips & wiz are owned by the same company signify. I'm using Wiz for last 2 years, i don't have any complaints.

I have some Wiz, you can change the Power on behavior to Last Status so it won't blind you if the switch gets turned off and back on.

For instance I have some outside right now which are set to the color red. They return to red when they get turned off and on again.

These Feit are $14.99 [costco.com] in store at Costco, how do they compare? My son has the Feit and loves them, and I've been considering them too for me.
The main difference I see is the power outage recovery option included in Wiz. This setting prevents the device turning back on after a power outage. Feit turns on after an outage. I'm returning the one from Costco for this reason.

Bought these bulbs on sale a couple years ago only to find out that they store your Wi-Fi password in plain text on each bulb.

They may have fixed this since, but I would definitely research this first. Unreal that someone can steal your Wi-Fi password just by unscrewing a bulb and taking it home with them (or by you giving it away and not clearing it properly)

constantly disconnecting from alexa. I bought 2 packs and regret it
Strange. I bought a pack last time this came around and they have been solid. Love the circadian rhythm feature.

Adding more AP doesn't give you more airtime/bandwidth if you already used up the 3 non-overlapping 2.4 GHz Channels (1,6,11). Adding a 4th AP meant reusing a channel that just add to the noise and more contention for airtime usage.
While that's kinda true, 3x AP-HD's will happily handle 750+ clients. Plus considering the deployment size across my property, adding another AP and reducing transmit power can actually prevent overlap and add another 250+ clients to my network, at the point I would need to upgrade to something even heavier like Ruckus, then yes maybe I'd start investing in ZigBee, but the cost difference just isn't there when a ZigBee bulb is $10/piece at the lowest, and that's still ~2.5x the cost of these, so for the same 20 bulbs, I'd need to spend $200 instead of $75. Not to mention all the smart switches, sensors, and other automation that's much cheaper to do with WiFi. Oh how nice it would be to be wealthy though 😂

FYI, Costco FEIT 4-pack color wifi A19 60w is on sale as well, bringing it down to $20 online or $15 in warehouse. Personally, for me, it takes couple attempts to connect (maybe because I have 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz under same WiFi broadcast) but once connected it has been rock solid. Plus you can always return anytime.

That is a really bizarre thing for a lightbulb to do, lol, what an odd decision. I suppose it doesn't really worry me as much as I don't allow people into my apartment whom I wouldn't give my WiFi password and I don't have any located outside, but I do understand why it concerns some people.

I see they're 800 lumens. Can anyone comment on if they're satisfied with them at that brightness?

You need to know that these will keep resetting themselves if you put them on an existing dimmable switch.

You are not supposed to put any wifi bulb on a non wifi dimmer switch. Every single manufacturer states this on their bulb or box. Something about a resistor in the switch breaks the bulbs

What is the app these use? I've mainly seen Tuya (aka Smart Life) bulbs vs Magic Home.

Ok the fact that there is a newish Home Assistant integration and it's local only sold me. Less than $5 a bulb is good. Magic Home is also local control, Tuya is not and I avoid it

Yeah Feit app doesn't have many customization for schedules and presets.
Ive been using wiz bulbs for 2 years and they work pretty well. I have times when they don't react, but just redo command and it works. Buying these and returning my Feit bulbs to Costco.
Additionally, I bought the wiz dinner switches for all my recessed lighting, will be replacing the recessed lighting bulbs with dimmable LEDs and have everything within the wiz app/Alexa

Wiz bulb has good customization and scheduling for different modes, color, and brightness.
