Honestly, in my opinion, other than the grips, this is not really better then the razer viper. From my experience, although it is a good price for the mouse itself, but I woudnt really buy it myself. If you like it, then get it. But don't think it's the best mouse despite the lowered price.

What does the deathadder pro v3 have over this? The dock looks more convenient actually. I just want the death adder because I have been using them for years and am used to the look and shape...

the DA v3 pro and the viper v2 pro both have better switches or something and are both like 20%+ lighter than the deathadder v2 and this viper ultimate

apparently though on paper, the DA v3 pro and Viper v2 pro are both equally the best mice on the market? switch and speed wise

you and I are probably similar where we'll benefit from getting this mouse for now and getting the v3 pro in a couple years when it finally drops from 150 to something like 80

edit: difference is like g pro wireless (my current) vs the g pro superlight except the razer pros are apparently better on paper than the g pro superlight (bc of sensors, lighter, and usb c while superlight still has micro usb)

Thanks! Hmm what's the difference between the two lines, other than ergonomics?

I have this mouse for a few years the charging dock gets loose and does not charge properly. You can charge via cable but kind of defeats some of the purpose of having this mouse. It was also a hassle to get Razer to honor their warranty on the dock

seems like ergonomics and weight is the main (and pretty much only) diff between the two lines (and pricing) -- this viper ultimate has 2 side buttons on both sides so people appreciated that, but the new viper v2 pro only has buttons on the left side (probably to save weight)

also apparently the DA v2 pro had bluetooth capability but the v3 pro will not (probably to save weight somehow). there's also a DA v2 X that's powered by AAA batteries instead of rechargeable and lasts 235 hrs and the DPI sensor is located above the scroll instead of below but I'm not sure how the batteries change the weight on those

I might be wrong but I think this viper ultimate was a crowd favorite replacement for g pro wireless and was an easy pick over the DA v2 pro but when it comes to the latest models for both lines, the DA v3 pro is actually pricier than the viper v2 pro and both seem to be garnering equal attention

Get a Logitech mouse, had a wired viper for 2yrs and put up with nonstop issues (random disconnects, stutters) switched to a Logitech G604 for an AMAZING experience. If you're planning on getting any Razer products be prepared to install their software..

Thanks OP. In for one.
I generally prefer ergo mice, but at this price I'll give it a shot.
Would like a DA3, but I'm not anticipating a price drop anytime soon from it's $150 retail.

appreciate your insight on this and will be keeping an eye out for it - I'm actually flipped and come from using logitech mice only! my g pro wireless started double clicking a couple years ago and I just kept using it but one of viper's advantages is that the tech makes it impossible to double click!

I'm at that stage of bitterness where I'm hyperfocused on a product that won't repeat a previous pain point for me hahaha hopefully this viper ultimate doesn't give me any issues you faced
