Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

whenever a company starts offering 'lifetime passes' it means they know it won't live that much longer
e.g. every small VPN
I agree, but this isn't a lifetime pass. It's a price guarantee. T-Mo typically does this. Their business model assumes that a certain percentage of customers will eventually upgrade services.

Very strange that they say the service is not available in my area now (near Boston, MA) even though when I checked a few months back they said it was. Anyone else seen this, I imagine I will just have to keep trying if it's some internal glitch unless for some reason they have removed my area from the service.
It is because they place a limit on the number of users until the infrastructure can support more.

You can use a different address (relative, friend, etc.) to sign up and the internet will work in your area, but speeds may vary since the network in your area is "full"..

I'm currentyl using this service in my home because builder forgot to route cable to the home, yes you heard it correct that they forgot. anyway if you are not living in the rural getting this doesn't make sense because it's limited 5G connection, the max speed you can get is 180ish mbps if you are in ideal condition. as you can guess you will probably not in ideal condition at all and the average speed is about 50-60ish mbps. any cable internet in the city can beat this speed. but if you are thinking that 50-60mbps is good for you this is the best deal you can get because usually cable provider prices start from $40 for their slowest package.

again, even though they are marketing it as 5G, this doesn't give you 5G speed at all. this has cap and if I'm not mistaken it's 180mbps max.
There is no cap, I saw 300 mbps roughly in upstate South Carolina.

You can get up to 800+ mbps but it all depends on how much utilization is happening on the tower. To get speeds like this you need to be on a 5G UC tower. If you have a 5G UC tower near you, you will likely get 100+ mbps speeds.

I don't agree with the other persons statement, but I suppose when "6g" or whatever the next tech advancement in wireless is you would have to "upgrade" to get that otherwise you stay on your 5g for life plan.

Same as I am doing with my cell phone plan. I have an old old plan that only supports 4g, but I don't see the need to upgrade to one of the newer plans that cost more money. At least not yet I don't.

"Existing T-Mobile Home Internet customers, including those on the Magenta Max bundle, are not eligible for this deal. Those looking to take advantage of the offer also would need to have not had T-Mobile Home Internet for at least 30 days."

This is such a pain. Guess I'll be canceling my service and waiting 30 days.

Another question, will this only apply to personal/family plans? Or business plans as well?

I believe this is designed primarily to check these two boxes:

1. If you do not have decent or reliable internet, this is now a competitive option for you to consider.
2. If you are limited on funds and can deal with an occasional hiccup or slow speed in order to take advantage of the cost-savings.

If you're a middle-class family or above, if you're working from home and require a stable connection in order to keep your job, and if you are in a metro area that already has healthy competition I think this might not be the best option for you. Just one man's $0.02
