Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

So only available for post-paid t-mobile customers? Even so I'm more curious to see what the speed would be compared to my xfinity. As long as it can support multiple devices streaming I would make the switch for the significant savings.

Anyone use tmobile home with Ubiquiti's USG? Struggling to understand what capabilities I'll lose. Pretty sure my incoming vpn won't work but I can live with that to save $648/yr.

This is the answer I was looking for. Thanks & Repped! I have homes both North & South that I move between at different times of the year & would like to transfer the device with me. Your answer leads me to believe this option is plausible. I will test it out.
Many people got this working away from their registered address, even while travelling. However, keep in mind this is going against their policy. If one day they decide to enforce their policy, they have enough ammunition to do so as their gateways have built-in GPS so they know where the gateway is physically. They also know the towers the gateway is connected to as each cellular tower has a unique identifier, so they could approximate the location. Not saying they would do this as they are trying to grow their home internet business, but they could.

Prob a dumb question. We have Comcast with a mesh router system. Can I still use my mesh with T-Mobile?
Quote from dealhunter85 :
You can use Nest wifi as your router with this correct? I assume you can but then I read about all the restrictions with ports or whatever so now I am not sure.
I use the Google wifi mesh system with this without issues. You simply connect it to the tmo modem and it works as expected.

Some people also said that Tmobile may give someone a "grace period" in case they are moving. And after certain amount of days/weeks, once the "grace period" is up, they will disable the device if it is not in their "home" location. So if you only stay at the other places for few days, it may works but really depend on latest T-mobile policy. Need to remember Tmobile can keep track of what cellphone tower(location) your device is connected to so they know where the device is located.
I think there is a lot of hearsay going on. Has this actually happened to anyone or is it just "it could happen".

So, like I said I did 2 week trial period with device registered to my home address. Worked fine at home and than worked fine 3 hours away at parents home which is in another state too. Granted this was only for about 1 week at both locations.

Also, my in-laws signed up for this internet last year. They were not able to use their home address, so they used my address to be able to get the device. They also live about 3 hours from me (the registered address) in another state and they have been using it that way for the entire time without any issues.

So maybe, T-Mobile tightens the use eventually, but that does not at all seem to be the case currently, at least not in my real experience.

It doesn't, but aside from a random screen shot we also have no other confirmation on this deal.

If true, we will know tomorrow when it is supposed to go live.

I have a TMO 5GUC tower about 100 yards from my home. I get about 600-700MB down and 150-200 up. May be worth a shot.
How can you tell who owns the tower? There's a cell tower that was recently installed pretty close to my house, but I don't know how to tell what carrier owns the tower.

I did. My house is covered by 5G but their map doesn't tell me how close I am to a tower.

Google cellmapper look for towers around you if no T-Mobile United States with N41 it will be slow internet.

That routes all your outbound traffic through a vpn right? That's different and should be fine. My gateway supports a secure tunnel (vpn) into my home network for when I'm away. That's the part I believe I'll lose because cgnat

Spectrum has been the only thing in the neighbourhood FOREVER. Saw some crews digging around last week and it appears they were installing the stuff for T-Mobile! Super excited to try it out. Also I hate Spectrum so…
