Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I didn't take the time to read through all these comments, but the first several were asking about the service itself.

I have two of these on my account. One for our AIRBNB and the other we keep in our van for traveling.

1. As long as you are in a 5g Service area, you will have service. Our AirBNB is downtown Oklahoma City and it pulls around 500mb down, 300mb up. It varies alot, but is always more than powerful enough for several devices. I have seen it as low as 50mb down (perhaps during a storm?)

2. As long as the device is plugged in and in a service area, it will work. I believe in the fine print it says it wont and it is somehow geo tied to your address, this has not been my experience at all. It has worked while traveling through multiple states so far.

3. No idea if this promotion will apply to existing customers, I plan to explore it fully and if need be I will order two more services and eventually cancel the old ones.

Anyone use tmobile home with Ubiquiti's USG? Struggling to understand what capabilities I'll lose. Pretty sure my incoming vpn won't work but I can live with that to save $648/yr.
I don't have a full 'Ubiquiti setup' but I do use a US-24 24-port Gb switch, and manage it using Ubiquti's software.
Not impossible your 'remote access' or (current settings'd) VPN might break, but otherwise all local config, access, etc. will remain the same.

As far as VPNs go, I have successfully connected:
-Private Internet Access
-NordVPN
-Aura VPN
-Speedify
T-mobile doesn't actively block VPNs, but the way their tech is setup (IPv6-native network, Double NAT, etc) it may require some reconfiguration or workarounds.

In my setup, the TMHI gateway is 'upstream' of the US-24 Switch 2 levels.
I have Ethernet lines from both a CenturyLink Gateway and TMHI Gateway going into a 1U Rackmount PC running Windows Server 2019 and Speedify (ISP 'bonding') + Connectify (Connection Sharing). That "Speedibox" then 'uplinks' to the US-24 Switch that supplies my home w/ Ethernet.
It works really well considering I can't do DMZ/port forwarding on the TMHI, but can 'drop' to CenturyLink for low latency gaming or hosting.

Let's see if I can force spectrum to lower my current price. They just super my price to $55 per month. Does anyone know what's the lowest I can get out of spectrum?
last offer from Spectrum was 39.99 located on Anaheim CA

I currently pay $50/month with comcast but the 5g service at my house isn't that great only 50mb/down vs 100-300mb on the cable modem. It's a good budget option but does not meet my household bandwidth needs. Thanks op

Man, that sucks that it's only for new customers. Existing customers always get the short end. I originally got it for the unlimited data, but the speeds have not been the best. I even purchased a cellular antenna to mount on the house towards the nearest tower. Ended up using it as a backup in case my cable internet went down. I may just call T-Mobile, drop it and take the $50 and put it toward unlimited data for my cable internet.

Yes. As long as tmobile provides service in that area. If you're traveling outside of your state that your service address is in, you may have issues. The power draw is minimal. No more than a toaster.
A toaster.. really..? The power adapter for the Nokia 5g21 is 24 watts. An average toaster is 1200 watts.

It's basically like a super hotspot lol not close to spectrum or any other dsl service
We switched from Spectrum to TMI earlier this year. With 4 adults using multiple mobile devices, couple of PCs, and two TV's that are used only for streaming. No one noticed a difference when we switched over.

Of course, YMMV depending on how good your signal is but even then we only get 3 bars and still excellent download rates.

That is correct. I had it for about 20 days a few months ago and returned it. When I first received it, wifi speeds were consistently 600-700mbps when doing speed test, then after a week, they dropped to 400-450 level, and I was still fine for the price (I have magenta Max, so internet was $30 for me). Then one night I couldn't even stream a video, everything was lagging. I did a speed test and speed showed 60-70mbps. Contacted their customer support, which was clueless, they couldn't help. Restarted device, and speeds were back to 600's, then a few day later, they dropped back to 70's range. At that point I started doing research and apparently I wasn't the only one having this problem.
I am not sure if the device reaches its capacity and starts bottlenecking or what, but even at $25 for life I would not get it, not unless they fix their problem.
It would be better if they have offered their own modem that way you can use your own router to potentially avoid any speed drops.
Now my friend that lives 20 minutes away, has an older gen device (grey instead of black tower), he doesn't see any issues with speed drop.
Just wanted to share my experience that I had.

Yes, BUT...they can and will monitor for usage outside of signed territory. Their TOS are very clear on this.

Also, this does not work in all locations, so YMMV.

My plan with spectrum went from $50 to now $80/mo. 300mbps. I spoke with a T-Mobile rep today before seeing this post - she says I should see anywhere from 39-200. Seems like a great deal for only $25. 50%off is such a gimmick though as they can just raise the price by 300% and still offer you 50% off lol

How many lines of home internet can I add? I would like to have it at 2 different locations, but keep under one account? Is it possible? $50 a month for 2 internet lines under one account?

They do offer you the modem... obviously. You do not have to use the built in router. It is the same thing with my current fiber at home from ATT. They give you a modem/router. Immediately I turned off the router and use my own equipment.
