Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I switched to TMHI last spring when they had a $50 gift card promotion. I was tired of paying $89/month with Spectrum.

I tested it before canceling Spectrum and it worked fine. Out of nowhere it went down and what's worse, I couldn't even contact T-Mobile because my phone wouldn't call out even when I turned off WiFi. It took over two hours to fix.

I'm planning to go back to Spectrum after the new year with a $49.99 plus God know what taxes and fees as it hasn't dropped once since they went to my roof and did something. TMHI goes out fairly regularly and I'm tired of it. I live in Manhattan in a back apartment so was surprised TMHI worked at all.

I love taking the trash can with me when I head to upstate NY and it works great up there. Just plug it in. That will be what I miss most, but it went down for hours during the work day again recently and was a nightmare to get back on line.

I have had T-Mobile home internet for almost 2 years and haven't had any issues. I work from home and live in the middle of no where, so this is the cheapest "legal" option. I think I will cancel my account and open one in my wifes name to get the deal..

I already have a separate account aside from my mobile phones.

Can I add this to my mobile account or will there be an issue. Same address,

Despite T-mobile sending me multiple flyers in mail, when I check my address on their website for service availability, I get the following message:

"Unlimited Home Internet isn't available yet.

But we do offer Home Internet Lite plans starting at $50/mo. with AutoPay that might work for you.
Wi-fi gateway included
15-minute setup
Our Data Usage Estimator can help you choose the perfect plan."

BTW I am a T-Mobile postpaid subscriber and I get one bar (two on better days) at my home. It has not been a big issue due to Wi-Fi calling.

So folks thinking about taking advantage of this offer (if and when it goes live), please do not plan to rely on this service as your primary internet service provider unless you get solid T-mobile signal at home.

It doesn't start until tomorrow. And only for new home internet customers.

Yes, using bridging mode right?
Couple ways...use the router as access point only, or assign a single static IP address from the modem to your router as the wan using any of the ports from the modem, and use your own router for DHCP management, etc...

from CNET website:
T-Mobile "anticipates" that most customers will average between 33 and 182Mbps download speeds. CNET tested T-Mobile's home internet service, and we hit a max of 132Mbps on the service.

Is $25 for 33-182Mbps download speed internet really appealing? It seems kind of slow. If you have surveilance cameras and other smart devices, it is going to work.

It depends on the area. In major cities, you will get 300-500Mbps+
I get over 500Mbps in NYC

I just set up this service a few weeks ago. I live in orange county California. It occasionally drops out briefly from time to time but speeds are acceptable. I don't online game anymore so it doesn't bother me. I'm paying 30 a month for it right now and I was paying over 80 with spectrum. I got fed up trying to haggle the price down every year.
