Or - if you have 2 phone lines you can get the internet for $30/mo
I checked a neighbor's address and it says it's available in my area but "spots are limited". If I were to cancel T-Mo Home Internet for 31 days and try to rejoin on this deal, with all the new $25 signups I bet there would be no spots available for me by then.
When someone says "phone lines", I assume that means "cell lines" and not VOIP lines?
Or Any one sign up for 2nd TMobile high speed internet?
Thanks.
Does anyone know from talking to T-Mo reps:
- When does this promotion end?
- Which gateway are they sending out now?
- Is this gateway better than the Nokia 5G-21-12W-A?
- Did T-Mo ever fix it so their VOIP phone service works over T-Mo Home Internet?
Believe it or not, when I checked into it about 2 years ago T-Mobile VOIP did NOT work over T-Mobile Internet. That's pretty ironic but not surprising for such a bureaucracy.
T-Mo told me years ago they have no way to fix their biggest problem of no way to access your IP from the outside. This forces people like me who need this feature to have a 2nd ISP.
I guess it's only available where excess capacity is available.
This is the sole reason I've been reading this thread. I keep hoping to hear an existing customer was able to get an exception which might open the gates for more of us. I think compensating us for "degraded service" is a good reason.
I haven't seen anyone post success getting a 2nd Internet connection at the same address. The OP specifically mentions the CNET article is wrong about T-Mo allowing more than 1 Internet per address.

As expected, I still haven't seen any reports of success for existing customers. I would drop their Internet now (because I have a 2nd ISP) and rejoin if I were confident I'd be able to rejoin in 31 days and get this deal. The limited spots in my area scares me.

Do you have simple choice plan? If so, read what the plan includes.
And people should stop asking about what speed they can get. As many posts before mentioned, the speed and ping varies by location. Location will play a huge role in stability and consistency of connection. Kind of like a "location lottery".
And when you add tons of new users because of this deal, the chance of winning this "location speed/ping lottery" is getting slimmer. And this deal likely has big impact to existing home internet users also. So whoever posted their number, that number may change after potentially many people joining their area with this deal.
People keep forgetting how this deal (with huge number of new users) may impact existing Tmobile Home internet user. The idea is simple, when you add many additional user which use the same cellphone tower and share the same bandwidth of that tower. The speed each device is getting using the same cellphone tower will decrease. Again, this is like "location lottery" with chance getting lower because of this popular deal (many new people signup).

Was able to get the 5G Gateway and activate with my existing Simple Choice voice plan.
Confirmed with them that $25/month promo started today.
System automatically had no activation fee.

If you already have Tmo internet than this offer doesn't apply to you unless you activate a new internet line. Like the wording states.
But it seems you can not cancel the original internet line without losing the discount on the new line. I can't confirm this part though.
