Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I'm in the same boat. Dumped Xfinity ($100 a month for just internet) back in May/June 2022.

I don't miss Xfinity at all, as I get up to 400Mbps with Tmobile vs Xfinity almost 100Mbps
Is x finite more stable ? More consistent?

No it wasn't.
I did experience a tower 🗼 problem with TMobile home internet after it was struck by lightning ⚡🌩️⚡. It took almost 72 hours to get fixed.

Other than that I think I've restarted my modem 2 or 3 times and haven't had any connection problems.

I wouldn't go back to Xfinity even if they price matched.

You would have to convert your account to the T-Mobile billing system in order to take advantage of this.

Went to the T Mo store to pick up the Arcadyan KVD21. CSR added the $25/month promo and filled out the $100 reward card. If all goes well, I will receive a text message containing a link to redeem the reward in 8 weeks. Tax will be added to the $25 price. Can anyone confirm?

Arcadyan unit was built on 11/2022 with firmware 1.00.16 and VI V1.8.0. Log in with PC via 192.168.12.1 does not permit any change to the unit. Need to install T Mobile Home app (Android) to communicate via WiFi to the Arcadyan. Found two issues:

1. Cannot turn off the built in WiFi radio. Has anyone found an option to accomplish this task?
2. There is no option to manually update the firmware. I suspect any firmware update is done automatically by T Mobile.
3. Speed connected by wire is solid with 15-25 mS ping and +200Mbps (four bar signal) most of the time. WiFi is about the same when checked with a modern mobile device. My WiFi USB "N" receiver is showing 10Mbps to 49Mbps. Not sure if this is a problem with the built-in WiFi radio in the Arcadyan. Will try another router connected to the Arcadyan's LAN port to confirm my suspicion.

200Mbps is more than adequate for most users unless you're working with Torrent stuff. We should contact T Mobile to push for a firmware update to turn off the built in WiFi radio. Connect a better router or mesh system to one of the two LAN ports.

Try TCPOptimizer. Please report back so others can benefit from your findings.

The default setting in my Ardadyan unit is capable of delivering 15mS ping. I'm not sure tweaking with MTU and other parameters will improve ping time.

Nice! Glad to hear that. Mine still not showing the promo, kind of getting worried about it as it is strange that it is taking so long. Most here got the promo to show up already. Hopefully on the next T-mobile promo scan my account gets picked up.

If it doesn't, its phone call time. I don't trust "it will just show" EVER.

Are there ways to improve the ping? My son says that the lag playing rocket league is pathetic? TIA
Try move around your modem/router to find a better location? If can't find a better location and the ping is not acceptable, then Tmobile Home internet is not right for you as your main Home Internet. Either use tmobile home internet as a backup (and/or use it for large files download to avoid over the limit for your main home internet like AT&T DSL, Comcast, etc) As many posts before mentioned, the speed and ping varies by location. Location will play a huge role in stability and consistency of connection. Kind of like a "location lottery". And some people will win and some people will lose on this "location lottery".

Anyway , some router like ASUS higher end wifi router, tp-link omada router, Unifi router, etc support multiple WANs. Check if your current router support multiple WANs.

For example, I think ASUS higher end wifi outer support load balance mode or fallback mode for dual WAN(?)

Some better router like omada/unifi router, etc, you can set which local IP will use which WAN (like your gaming PC would use AT&T/Comcast internet and everything else use Tmobile Home internet, etc)

Got it!
I'm curios, how many bars "the trash can" shows before and after installing antenna?
I would assume, it does show better signal with antenna, right?
Mine shows 3 red bars.
Thanks!
I'm getting over 200Mbps with four bars. Sometimes over 300Mbps. If the location of the unit is plagued with noise, then a better antenna might help. However, if the signal is already weak, then I suspect an aftermarket antenna may not make that much of a difference.

Take a look at this reddit post that might have a way to turn off the wifi:

Doesn't that basically mean that you got their home internet plan for $45/mo? If you have a use for that talk & text only plan, it may be good, but otherwise, I don't know how good of a deal that is.

You can turn off the WiFi via this PowerShell script [pastebin.com]; watch the tutorial -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTI9AOaYedc
