Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Received the gateway unit. Easy setup. Tried every room in the house. West ward side is best for me but 'only' getting 270-330 mbps when tested on fast.com on wireless connection. Will test it when hardwired too. But so far, I'm getting double my cable internet speeds for half the price. More days of testing are ahead but this looks very promising to drop cable internet.
It really is for a lot of people unless gaming or needing something more steady is a factor.

Had tried it before at my place and was ready to live with the speed fluctuations but discovered gaming issues and would rather have wired connection.

What's really entertaining is Cox ads trying to trash cellular internet. It happened faster than anyone thought. Meanwhile they all keep playing games with prices and everyone has hated that game for years. If they had fair transparent pricing less people would bother leaving.

Side note, after getting shipping notice I got another text and see the discount on the website account page. App is still showing Internet as the main line. Not sure what that's about.

from what I can tell, and by reading that quote, there seem be be a couple of things that might be happening here;

1) it seems like there are limited number of the HSI accounts available in each neighborhood, I'm assuming to prevent over congestion so in that case you might be out of luck until someone either cancels service, moves, or more spots are opened for each tower.

2) Another reason might be that the band for 5G (41, 66 or 71) is not available on the tower closest to you. Try checking out cell mapper.net (this happened at my parents house, they have a LTE band tower but not 5G close by and they can't get the service at their house, officially)

if you have a relative close by, you can try putting that address, signing up for the service and then trying the modem at your house. If it doesn't work, you can always return it. But it looks like your address is not compatible with the service
Thanks. Several reps confirmed it was available, I think that one rep just didn't know what the error code meant and was taking a guess. I am actually directly across the street from a 5G tower. I've had T-mobile for 7 or 8 years now and reception has always been terrific,
Although I had the worst run of luck with this, I still think that the right rep could set it up easily. I just need a few day break from dealing with them.

I had gone to the store to get my SIM card changed. Rep asked me if I was interested in getting the router and the $25 a month deal. I said yes and came home with the router. Getting speeds of 450 mbps on my S22 Ultra; 166 mbps on my Note 9. Both on the 5 GHz band.Didn't know wifi 6 had such a huge performance jump.

Try setting up a Tails ale server. It is basically a virtual lan that uses wireguard for the connections with the benefit that it takes care of the connections without requiring you to port forward anything within your network.

https://tailscale.com/

Tailscale is very similar to Hamachi for those that are familiar with Hamachi from LogMeIn.

Thanks was able to get this deal using my $5/month Watch plan after two chat attempts... My only plan was: T-Mobile Wearable 500MB with separate number TI.

First one said I needed a full voice line no matter what and the second one said they'd try it and see if it would work after I told them that I can place and make calls with just my Galaxy Watch4 without my phone.

Got the gateway and set it up...took 10 minutes...tried out the gateway on its own. While great in the same room, overall range is terrible for wifi 6 and the speeds drop drastically once you leave the room.

Either way, I setup my Asus mesh network. On the TMO gateway i switched the wifi to be 5gh band only and hid the wifi network. On my Asus mesh I took advantage of the wan aggregation to use both lan ports from the 5G gateway into my router.

Overall, my wifi 6 speed at home hover around 250 down and 40 up while my fiber connection was around 600 down and 700 up.

Is it worth it for me? So far, if things stay this way, I will say a huge Yes. Because this is $55 bucks cheaper per month over my att fiber connection.

While chatting on the app, rep couldn't add the promo to my account no matter how nicely I asked. I ended ordering a 2nd line of home internet and will cancel the old line in 90 days.

Thanks for the tip! I was having issues with my mesh I setup with Deco M9 Plus. I ended up setting my Deco M9+ in Access Point configuration instead of Wi-Fi router..disabling the 2.4Ghz channel and hiding the network on T-Mobile router helped boost my speed a lot

What do you mean by "separate number Tl"? Is your watch plan part of a phone plan?

How's the torrenting with T-Mobile home (obviously with VPN on)? Or what's the highest monthly bandwidth someone used.
