Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Picked this up Sunday. So far I am very impressed, 108 dl 65 ul speeds, almost as fast as cable with 100% up time so far. This is in OC, CA....

Even worse here. I'm in New York, NY. Download during the day is about 10 Mbps, upload around 2 Mbps. At night, 150 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up. Tried different spots. The gateway is right by the window (best speeds), which of course is not pleasant.

Second time I'm trying the service (tried a few months ago).
Opened ticket and was told this speed is working as expected (!).
If you're seeing at least 4 bars, then the root cause is probably an overload condition at the tower. Tall buildings nearby could also block/degrade the signal to the receiver. Try placing the receiver outside the house (all four sides). If there is significant improvement, then you may benefit with the use of an externa antenna. Keep the feedline short to avoid signal loss.

Got it!
A couple more questions, hopefully the last.

2x2 antenna can be connected to 5G or LTE U.Fl connectors on the TMO router, depending on 5G cell service is available or not your location
Which one did you use?

If you use TMO router WiFi, do you see any difference in signal on clients between 2.4 and 5 WiFi?

Thank you!
You will connect the ufi. There are 5 connections in my trashcan router, 1 is GPS, and you use the 2 white striped ones . This depends on the router but Waveform has a great site with directions to see how you connect your model. I have an extender to get the signal to my shop about 250 feet form the router and the speeds for WIFI are faster than anything I can get with the router so I see no difference. I also use wired to an old Netgear for my XBOX so if you want best signal you will want to run a network cable. I stream 4K from a NAS hosting PLEX on my wifi and it is fine. The antenna does not boos the WIFI signal only the LTE/Cellular signal.

What do you signal strengths, noise and bands look like?

Backyard outdoor is 200+Mb download, Garage 100+Mb download, inside house or near window or even next to the wall outdoor is 10Mb. My house is stucco with wire netting like a faraday cage, so best option for me is garage with existing Arcadian gateway router. It's a backup for my occasional blackout from the cable that gives me about 400+Mb download.

Other options are to put unit in attic (no wire netting) or paid $200 to $400 for waveform Mimo antenna and risk breaking the gateway connectors.

I only get 3 bars good even inside the house or outdoor.
It seems the speed for downloading is not indicative by the number of bars. The signal bars seem to indicate how close you are to the tower but the downloading speed is affected by how many interference from your buildings/walls. Just tested again, even putting a box next to the gateway will affect the signal, orientation of the gateway too.

So the gateway is not really omnidirectional, you probably need to turn it facing a certain direction.

Was able to grab this deal and picked up at the TM store yesterday. Now my account still says $50. But is this normal? An employee told me that they'll adjust so don't freak out…

Day 2 of using the service. It's still wildly sporadic even sitting in the same location. Yesterday, I went from 50/40 to 8/0.5 to 4/1 and everywhere in between. This is during mid-day so not anything to do with evening traffic congestion. Today, it took a long time for it to connect to a tower. Speed went from 80/40 to not connecting at all and back.

As a point of comparison with my T-Mobile hotspot using 4G, my hotspot pulls a consistent 10/10 or so. Not the fastest but very reliable. If I had to make a guess, it's' because 5G is simply not reliable due to the nature of it's reach versus 4G. I'll see if I can disable 5G on the modem. I don't necessarily need blazing fast speed in the hundreds.

I'll probably still hang onto it for at least a few months since T-Mobile is giving a $100 gift card making those months almost free.

EDIT: Can't find a setting to disable 5G on the modem through the T-Mobile internet app. If anyone knows if we can disable 5G and just use 4G towers, please let me know.

I wish we could disable 5G and use LTE only in the Arcadyan gateway. It would be more reliable.

I thought about pulling antenna connectors internally, but it seems they are all LTE/5G antennas internally

Yep, I know.
Basically, 4x4 antenna is connected to both 5G and LTE ufi ports
And 2x2 to either 5G or LTE ufi ports, not to both.
I assume, since you started seeing 5G signal, you have connected it to 5G ufi ports, right?

I would disagree respectfully. Peace
I would think, all antennas are shared between 5G, LTE and WiFi.
I might be wrong, I didn't find it mentioned anywhere explicitly on waveform.com...

And thanks for your answers, I do appreciate them, really!

For those that question about speed and frequent drops, I have the wifi radio disabled on the gateway router and hooked it up to an external router (We use TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6)

Only one drop in the 3 months of usage and speeds up to 400+ mbps. I think its worth trying the settings. https://www.youtube.com/@NaterTater makes great videos on these topics

I do recall from really old experience, disconnecting antennas can burn output circuits.
Devices might have built-in protection added since then, don't know for sure...

Have multiple Business $10 data line, added a voice line $20 and got this promotion as

Small Business Internet - Tax Inclusive

I can also see that 2022 Hint p22 applied under "My Promotions"

Seems that tax included already. Great backup and traveling plan. The $10 data plan is not unlimited , is it ?
Wow!!!
Did you get public IP with "Small Business Internet" plan?
Or it's same dreaded NAT / CGN...?

I'm not the one you asked but I can tell you that you do NOT automatically get a static IP with the SBI internet plan. You need a special Inseego gateway for that which seems to be impossible to get. Only with that gateway you can book a static public IP for $3 per month.
