Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

The keyword here is "some area". The coverage is very spotty. The "overall" or "average" figures don't mean a thing when you live in an area with no coverage.
Well obviously 5G isn't everywhere. I don't find T-Mobile 5G to be spotty. But yeah if you live in a rural area I'm sure everything is spotty. I can't even remember the last time my phone didn't show 5G. If you're on a fringe area, slap the external antenna on this thing.

Is there a $35 one time fee for the line
Yes unless they waive it. YMMV

Mine shows 55 a month
Give it a few days. It'll show up as full price and then credits for the rest.

Folks, just wanted to share this, if you are really interested what to do with one line requirement.

I got my Gateway yesterday delivered, set it up, and activated the voice line sim that I had ordered along with Gateway. My voice line was default set to Magenta plan $70.

Today I had a chat with an agent and mentioned that I really don't need additional line. Could they put me on $5 plan for tablet that I have and can use. Without a glitch they said yes and put me on $5 plan that is useful my tablet and now my total comes to $25 for Home Internet and $5 for tablet, $30 (Yes, Taxes and Fees included!!) in total for life for unlimited data.

btw, I haven't located the best spot for gateway but with just 3 bars I get at least 280 Mbps down and 40+ Mbps Up.
Can you tell us more about that $5 line? I will chat and ask about that as well. What's the exact name of that $5 line? Really interested in getting rid of that $20 voice line. TIA.

This is the worst internet I have experienced in last 10 years. I would not recommend to any one, price is lucrative but very inconsistent Internet with connections dropping and slow most of the times, no matter what part of the house you put this. I was reading article a while back and looks like more than 50% of the people have returned their device. Customer service suck too big time on these, they will somehow point out it's your fault and make you feel dumb ass !

It's very location specific. It works well for some people. Terrible for others. Would I take this over my fiber internet? No. Would I take it over my mom's cable internet that's twice as much and goes out frequently? Yes. It's not the best fit for everyone, but it's great for some people.

possible workaround for existing customers is to suspend your existing home internet line through the app after adding a new home internet line. this will allow your line to stay suspended for 90 days at the cost of a line which is $10 a month. after the 90 days my plan is to cancel and keep the $25 a month internet line

Here is a data point for some still contemplating trying. I currently have Frontier Fios hooked up to a Deco M9 mesh network (3 pucks). I pay for 500/500 that's around $55 after taxes. My real speeds are around 220/200.

I signed up for T-Mo internet. I first just tested it moving it around my house for best signal and speed. I was using my phone to connect to the wifi doing speedtests. I found speeds were very low on my Pixel 6 (20-30 down at most and 2-5 up). When I tried with my S21 Ultra though, I was getting much faster speeds, closer to 150+ down since it was wifi6. I moved it to my top floor near a window and hooked it up to my Deco M9 mesh system. I'm getting pretty good speeds through the house now around 150-200 down and 20-40 up. Gonna test it for a few months to see if I notice any real world difference while working from home and streaming media. Looks like it might be worth keeping and cutting Fios to save $25/month.

Anybody having issues with the Sagemcom device? My wifi speeds are higher than ethernet directly to the computer and I also get wan002 errors. Seems very buggy and wondering if I should exchange it. When working I get up to 600 down and 140 up on wifi.

They sent me an email that it's available in my area now. I thought maybe they'd installed a new 5g tower or something but '5g data' on my phone is 10mbps in my house (more rural outside major city). Am I to believe it will be any better with their modem or do they have a new solution or something? Seems like bad planning and asking for complaints from customers...

Do you have a 5G UC capable phone? Check their coverage map and see whether they show you in a 5GUC area. The antennas on the modem are larger than a cell phone so would likely pick up the mid band UC signal better. You just need one spot in your house where you get that mid band signal consistently and you're set.

They also have a 15 day test drive or the $100 back so you can basically get the service and try it for 4 months for free. If you don't like it keep your other provider. Simple as that

I picled up a Sagemcom first...but,6 month before that I had a 15 days test with a Arcadyian(just to try).
so,my laptop, which was wired directly from Sagemcom, failed to show the internet results, almost 90-95% of the time...Wifi was working real slow!
I called tmobile, went back to the store and exchanged Sagemcom back to Arcadyan.
No problem now.200 down 60-70 up.Same speed on wifi or wired connection.
I don't know what is the problem with their Sagemcom.but the other brand is 100% better for me!
