Many higher end mb m.2 slots passive heat sink combined with a heatsink plating which is actively cooled. If not spend the $20 and keep it cool.

I purchased this from the best buy deal. Works great and ps5 read test was over 5000mb.

No issues moving games or loading.

The price will drop more, but I'll just buy again in that case.

This is the speed test result [imgur.com] from my 2TB Samsung 980 Pro (PCIe gen4.0). Seems to max out at 6250MB/sec read. I got it last March 2021 for $349.

So this doesn't seem like a terrible deal at all. And from what I've read Crucial is still a pretty solid brand when it comes to solid state chips.

Check your Amex rewards
I had a 20% off by using at least 1 point. When I applied it, the % turned to 40.
~$126 total with heat sink.
