Just a heads up. I just bought this and returning it. There is a known issue with a coil whine. Its hit or miss, some have it others don't. Mine was unbearably loud. Tried undervolting it which did help but there was still a noticeable noise.

Bummer. I got this as a gift for my son. Did you try swapping power supply? Or any of these fixes? https://www.cgdirector.com/fix-coil-whine/
Ordering from Amazon is nice for the return if I need to, at least.

I didn't . Have an EVGA 650w gold fully modular psu. If I have to spend another 100+ on a different power supply, I'd rather just go ahead and buy an Nvidia card. Whole reason for going with AMD was the value.

That's unfortunate. I bought this card for two PCs and neither seem to have any coil whine. They've been great, so far. Both have EVGA SuperNova PSUs (one 750W, one 650W). As mentioned, at least it's from Amazon, where returns or exchanges are easy.

I also bought this card during the blackfriday type deal, and I am wondering if the your fan is running incredibly loud? I can hardly notice the coil whine without the headphone, but the fan is just so loud I can hear it even with the headphones on. I upgraded this from Rx580 8GB, and even when pushing GPU to 100% the fan is fairly quiet.
Anyone having this issue? I might return this if its just me.

This is a serious issue. I used to have a 1080ti had that problem, it was pain in the ass when I used computer at night. It bothered me so much I had to sell that card on ebay for really cheap.

Looking for some help here. I want to upgrade my nephews graphics card, he's using a Dell 8930, with an i5 8th generation and a 460w PSU, current card is an RX560.
Does anyone know if this will work? Or is there a website I can use to check compatibility? I'm sorry, I should know this but it's a bit beyond my knowledge level.
Why do I keep hearing about coil wine all the time now? I don't remember hearing complaints about this in the past. Now I keep hearing about it over and over.

Definitely not the fan. Its coming from where the power goes into the GPU. Had a bunch of gpus, current one a 1660 super and have never experienced this. But, when you google it, its not just a isolated incident.

Not an expert, but imo if it fits your case and the psu has the power cable wich is 1x6pin and 1x8pin you will be fine.

460W seems a bit low, but it depends on how many hard drives is in the system, how much power the components draw. Worst case is you have to get a new power supply if the card crashes yours system, won't break your wallet.

I wouldn't blame AMD in this instance. Coil whine from part selection is the board partners (ASUS) fault.
