Got it for $80 with Amex offer. Was deciding between $80 S9+ and $120 S10 and went with S9+ for the larger screen and larger battery and cheaper price, but you cannot go wrong with either as long as they fulfill your needs. These are great phones with zero hassle order experience from Amazon. You cannot compare those with ebay/trade-in/unlock/craiglist/etc shopping experience, and certainly not with phones with 3x price tags.

s9+ is different processor , I was only thinking of getting the s10 to use with Gear VR, that the processor would be better than my s8+ I am currently using it with - at some point I may just have to decide to spring for a real VR headset

There are many differences from S9+ to S10, os version, form factor, cpu, storage, ram, camera, screen ratio, screen size, battery size, iris, finger print, etc. Nothing really important to me so went with price.
