Just checked and I paid $319 June 2020 for a certified refurbished from vitamix directly. Seems like a good price for new. Wish I had one of these cool colors! Helped me lose 50 lbs so I would highly recommend Smilie

I will say if you are going to be making smoothies for 1 person more often than for 2/ a group, you will probably want the tall 64oz container or one of the smaller containers because it blends better for the smaller portion ( the tall container has a narrower base) I ended up buying a separate container later because I used it mainly for myself. ( the one included is their low profile container which fits under kitchen cabinets better but has a wide base)
Vitamix is a next level blender. Way better than black and decker, oyster, ninja, and etc. It actually liquefies the ingredients. You can make hot soup in it.
This is not a blender. This is a Vitamix!

I bought that too. When you run it on 9 or 10 with a thick slurry, like when making nut butter, do you hear a grinding noise and more vibration every few seconds, like the gears are slipping or working really hard? I find it very jarring (no pun intended). I dont know if its normal. And I tried to call Vitamix to hang up after 15 min on hold.

Honest question…. For most of my life if you needed a blender it was $39 at the department store or whatever. As far as I know, those blenders all did in fact, blend. Now here's a blender for $350 and people are excited. What happened?

It's a Buy-It-For-Life (BIFL) brand that's expected to hold up under moderate/heavy use for years if not decades, similar to Kitchenaid mixer and Speed Queen washing machine.

In my personal experience with other brands they start to get really noisy , not blend as well, and other issues after a year or so of daily use so need to be replaced more often.

Vitamix and blendtec are quite a bit different. I used to work at a smoothie shop and I would tell customers that the 'secret ingredient' was the blender. It's powerful enough to blend everything up without requiring as much water/juice as you'd need with regular quality blenders. This lets you have a lot more control on having a good thick smoothie that isn't watered down or needs to be resweetened with extra sugar to make up for the extra water required.
If you like the way your smoothies are coming out, by all means stick to a typical house blender, but vitamix earned a spot in my kitchen after years of working with them.

Also a heads up, their replacement parts are overpriced. Many of them you can find a generic replacement for much cheaper. Don't buy vitamix brand OEM parts!

Honestly I replaced my lunches with smoothies for 4-6 months and then I was just watching what I ate at other meals/ Portion size mostly. After dinner if I ever wanted something to eat I would choose an apple or some other fruit vs normal junk. Exercise for me was just an indoor bike 30min-1hr 3x a week and some basic weight lifting w/ dumbbells. nod

any fruit is just pure sugar and would throw me out of keto instantly. plus it would bring back nasty cravings for more sugar. it was no go for fruit for me. an apple has at least 23g of sugar in case anyone is wondering.

It's still in-box as an Xmas present to myself from the spouse, so haven't tried it yet.

I just bought the E520 from Costco for $300 (299) and that thing is great. I Make smoothies with blackberries and it pulverized the big seeds to nothing.

Looking at the 750, I'm not sure what the difference is other than a number. If you got the membership I would look at the 520 as well.
