Great price - I often can get it right to 20mph (according to the screen). I wish it had some sort of suspension but these are well-built and you can't find a better scooter under $500 imo.
I've had this scooter and now have a dual motor one that goes 40mph.

At this power level it doesn't matter much.

But at higher power levels, I hate having a motor in the front. There's so much weight transfer on a scooter because the center of gravity is very high. Which means everytime you accelerate all the weight goes towards the back tire. Which also means whenever you try to power out of a turn with a front motor, your sure to lose traction in the front and low side the scooter. It's happened to me a few times.

If I was ever going to DIY my own scooter. It would either be rwd, or the rear motor would be a lot more powerful than the front.

When it comes to scooters rwd>fwd by a large margin

Nearly everything on two wheels is rwd except escooters.
This deal has been around for a couple of weeks. As someone pointed out though, returns are expensive if you have a warranty issue that needs to be addressed. So both the Amazon and costo deals seemed safer. Costco didn't have this one but had the mostly equivalent F35, which is a rebranded F40 for Costco. the only differences I can find between the F40 and the G30LP are:

1) disk brakes v drum
2) front wheel drive v RWD
3) weight

Not sure why this isn't blowing up.

Great deal.

Can't recall the last time this was in the 400's.
It's not the max version with more range

Because the other model G30P was $575 with no tax a few years ago.

Literally says MAX in the title and appears to be the max version of the G30LP??...

I honestly don't think it matters for 99.9% of use cases. Theoretically, RWD puts the weight on the driven wheel when you accelerate. FWD losses minimal traction under acceleration.

Don't over think it.

Sadly not the original Max G30 which is what most people refer to as "Max". You are correct in that it is the KickScooter Max series. Confusing on Segway's part
