Premium price for no battery. Think I'll hold off on canceling the makita track deal from a few weeks ago, until they sweeten the deal on this saw.

How far can u cut across with something like this before having to move the rail? Looking to cut some 36" butcher board.

You can cut the full length of the track.

It's finally available eh. I got tired of waiting and jumped on the Ryobi a few months ago. Maybe I shouldn't waited but then again I haven't opened the Ryobi still so not exactly a regular use tool for me

You can likely buy additional tracks and join together. Not sure if Milwaukee said they would make it compatible with the existing Makita/festool tracks. The ryobi isn't.

Don't buy a $450 saw to make one cut. Just use a circular saw with good blade and clamp a guide (a level, straight piece of wood, etc) to the butcher block at the correct distance from the desired cut, then push the saw along the guide.

Milwaukee's is compatible with the Makita/Festool tracks (and a few other options), yes.

You can get longer rails for doing things like ripping full length plywood down. Or, you can join a couple smaller rails together to do the same.

Honestly I'd love to find a reasonably priced one that isn't cordless... just don't know what's good and bad.

Pretty weird to go corded in 2022 but if you insist, get the Makita.

Is there any benefit to buying this instead of using my Milwaukee rear handle circular saw with a Kreg saw track?

I'm still waiting to see some comprehensive reviews on this saw. I do want a cordless tracksaw but I remember that when Bosch released their (MaFell in blue) corded saw and cordless version, the cordless had too much flex in it and so it cuts VERY poorly where the corded version cutting the same material, cut beautifully.

I'm also curious if the improved Festool track connectors can be used with the Milwaukee track. IIRC, they switched from a rubbish setscrew design to a sort of cam action which is much better at pulling two pieces of track into a straight line.

Not really. Some people see no need to pay a cordless premium when you're planning to be tethered by dust extraction anyways

My only issue with this concept is that you can only clamp the guides at the ends. This may create a slight slump in the middle when you are pushing through, which may not make a perfectly straight line. This is if you have a standard table with no dog holes for different clamping positions.
