I have a few of these for lower powered devices. Bought in 2018 and just replaced the batteries this year. A few screws, pop the cover and done.

It simply doesn't have a quick pop off hatch as other UPSes. We're talking 5 minutes vs 1 minute to swap the battery every 4 to 5 years.

I got this exact model for $50 about a year ago. I use it for my modem, router, and network switch.

It came in handy earlier this year when I had a bunch of power outages (SF Bay Area) over the course of a couple of weeks. I work from home, so maintaining internet connection was awesome. I have a separate 1000VA UPS for my desktop PC setup.

This 425 VA keeps my internet alive for around 3 hours. And I got around 25-30 minutes for my PC, at which point I switched to my laptop.

Hopefully this helps folks gauge what capacity they might want/need.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I RMA'd this 425VA unit as it was emitting a high-pitched whine when powered on. I thought it was my tinnitus at first. RMA process was easy but took about 1 month from filing to receiving the replacement unit.

Just fyi, i dont think these models have usb typeB ports to allow software to safely shut down.

So it would be fine for a modem/router, but not good for a server.

Would this work for a synology and modem/router? Also how long would it stay in for?
No. Synology has a very nice feature that will put the nas to sleep when running on battery (graceful shutdown). This unit doesn't have a USB port to use this feature.

Ordered one. I use these small ones for things like Wyze cameras and routers and other low power stuff. I have cyberpower 1500's for desktops and higher power stuff.

In for 10 replacing my doctors IT infrastructure, perfect for their desktops (USFF) dual monitors. Not worried about batteries, I'll replace in 3 years.

Cool, but these don't have the auto PC shutdown on low battery feature like many UPSes have. I find that feature useful, especially if you are away from your PC during an outage, but some people don't use it.

Actually, I might get a DC output UPS's instead, if it will power the devices I need. I'll have to check the devices tomorrow. Something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07W8MCBMS

I have one of these and hate it. Every few months it will just start emitting an incessant tone, and the only way to get it to stop is to unplug it (or flip the breaker). Of course, it always seems to start in the dead of night, and then I have to power down my NAS first. Bloody annoying. Not sure if it's a power spike or whatever that triggers it… all I know is it's not without power when I'm dealing with it. Just haven't gotten around to replacing it yet (but have been eyeing the larger models at Costco).

I have 6 of these scattered throughout my house and garage. The 1 in the garage does this too and I have no idea why. It's very annoying!!

Is there a way to test the current battery to know if it needs to be replaced?

For me, pulled out of the UPS is most reliable. I use an Ancel BA101 battery tester. I set it to test CA based on the published battery specs.

My typical Cyberpower 1350 battery replacement looks like:
https://www.mightymaxbattery.com/...65_4_0.jpg

When testing look at the internal resistance and max discharge current (set your test CA value to this). Those should be close in value to the Ancel readings

Depending how invested you are with UPSes in your house, a good tester is worth the investment. Don't buy a replacement battery unless they publish battery characteristics. Most OEM battery brands should have one, not all 3rd party batteries do.

Hope that helps.

Just out of curiosity, do they have any that also function as a portable power station? Not necessarily one with surge protection.

I like to use this on my modem and router. Works great for those situations when the power goes off and comes back on.
