What happens if you return an item on which you earned bonus cash? Assume it gets pulled back? Bought the Duracell batteries last week while you got $15 back in BC when you bought 2. Found a much better deal so may return them. Just trying to figure out if the pull the BC or reduce your refund by the BC earned. Thanks.

Neither. You keep the BC and it is not subtracted from your return total.

They've always refunded to BC for me if I used BC to purchase something. But they've never pulled back the BC that I earned on the transaction.

Does the refunded bc have the original expiration date or a new date of 30 days after refund?

If it earns BCC, they'll reverse your BCC meter. So it'll go back to 0 if you do a return. I'd just keep them since we always need batteries for something. Store coupons reduce the refund amount too.

This has not been my experience. I earned BCC for a Nature Made purchase that I later returned. I kept the BCC.

Also not my experience that coupons reduce the refund amount. I made a mistake last week and had to return/rebuy on another card. I was refunded the full amount even though I used a $2 coupon on the item and a $10/$40 birthday coupon on the order.

It's happened to me on both occasions & that's the reason I said it. An error on the store's part caused me to do a return. I used a ra purchase based coupon & it reduced my refund amount. So it may not have been your experience but it has been mine.

Yeah, I get that. Just pointing out that it may not be everyone's experience.

Agree that people's experience may differ, but adding mine FWIW. I haven't experienced losing BC with a return (no experience with BCC), but refund amounts have been reduced for me--by weird amounts I can't make add up--even when they didn't include a store coupon. About 3 instances within the last year or so, and in every one I was just trying to return and rebuy because cashier error (e.g. neglecting to ring up an item so I didn't meet a threshold) or lack of tags caused a screwed up transaction. The shortest, most straightforward example: bought 4 Special K (advertised 2/$6, $2BC on 2) and 2 Boiron (BOGO 8.99 $5BC on 2). Used 1 $3 Boiron mfr Q and 2 $1/2 Kellogg's mfr Q. That was my entire transaction--no other coupons or deals involved apart from non-Rite Aid app rebates. No tags on the cereal, but bought 4 same size boxes of assorted flavors. 3 rang up $3, but one rang up $4.69, and evidently didn't count for BC. Returned the $4.69 and one $3 (to rebuy a pair for BC), but only received $4.08 and $2.50 refund. Even if they meant not to refund the $1 mfr coupon I used on those (which seems fraudulent--I of course didn't try to use another coupon on the rebuy), they still shorted me.

I also had this happen a couple months ago, several times .. and heard another customer complain about the same. In the last month or so though, I've gotten the full value of the product returned, even with a paper coupon or a L2C. I have no idea what they were doing before, but hopefully, at least with the registers in my store, it is fixed Smilie

Rite Aid seems to be very inconsistent and not just from store to store. I've had different return results from one time to the next at the same store. I don't have very many returns and those I do have are usually because of cashier error (hitting the button to use my Bonus Cash before scanning my coupons) or items not ringing up at the sale price.

I have definitely had a return put my BCC meter back to zero. In July I returned some covergirl makeup 3 days after I bought it. I tried to return it immediately when it didn't ring up at the price on the sign (the signs had been left up from the previous week, 3 days into the next week), but the cashier didn't know how to do a return. I was credited for the purchase for the BCC and it was reversed after the return. It may be a time frame thing. If the return is done before the end of the BCC month/months it reverses it, but if the BC has already been awarded nothing happens. Or it could be a matter of partially working on a BCC versus fully finishing it. My covergirl purchase only had me past the first tier. I'm totaling just hypothesizing. I've only ever had the one return of items I had on my BCC.

As far as a purchase based coupon reducing a return amount, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I have had a return where I couldn't figure out how they came up with the return amount and I'm very good at math. My last return, Haagen Dazs bars on Black Friday that rang up at full price and didn't award BC, was fully refunded even though I had used a $10/$40 anniversary coupon.

I think it's updated software vs old. Because at one store I get a full refund & another, it reduces my refund.
