It's not. It's a good price considering the AW 8 doesn't add too much over the 7 -- temperature sensor which doesn't do much unless you are a woman who's aunt Flow is still alive AND sleep with your watch on. People probably downvoted because it's sold out.

It's not bad per say, but nothing to get excited about. 8 GPS was $379 all over for many weeks (maybe it still is). 7 GPS + Cellular was $349 at Walmart last month. The 7 GPS has been $310 at Target many times in the last few months. Back in September the 7 GPS was $279 at Staples and Target, Best Buy and Walmart were all price matching them like mad.

From what you are saying, a deal is slick only when a product costs less than in the past. Let me disagree with you. I would say a deal is slick if it is about a popular product sold on a reputable site for the cheapest price you can find *as of today*, and I think this post qualifies on all accounts.

No, I didn't say or imply that at all. It wasn't a particularly great deal the first time it was posted at $310, but the fact that it goes on sale for $310 very often indicates that this is nothing to get excited about. If one were to wait and hope for a better deal, the odds are excellent that a worst case scenario in say, a month from now, would be this same exact price (and quite likely a better price considering this is a discontinued model - one that we have already seen clearanced at $279 at 1 retailer).

I hope you are right. However, it is more likely that it will be sold out -- as you said, this is a discontinued model.

Case in point - I ordered this watch in a different color and size when it went on sale at Target a couple of months ago, and my model was only available for pickup. Thinking what you said above, I decided not to go to the store (long drive, it would be available soon for the same or better price with free shipping ...). Guess what - that did not happen, and judging by how quickly this watch sold out, it might not happen.

Anyway, I think it's a great deal if the color and size work for you, but "the people have voted". Lol
