The House is blowing out bunch of Framed gravel bikes and stacking their coupons depending on their price.
Code: SAVE15 gives you $0-$499 15% OFF, $500-$999 20% OFF, $1000+ 25% OFF

There's 7 different gravel bikes, each with different level of builds. Only highlighting TWO here

The bargain budget bike is the Framed Brasswood - SRAM Apex 1 drivetrain with 1x, carbon fork, 15x100/12x142 thru axles and frame clearance for 47c tires. For $652 its an excellent way to get into gravel without needing to spend $2K. Other than the smaller rotors (can upgrade to 160mm) and mechanical brakes (is at least quality TRP model) not many faults. https://www.the-house.com/qfrbwa1...amed-bikes

For $220 more, same bike but upgrade to carbon wheels with DT350 hubs. For me this was a no brainer when the wheels alone sell for $700. https://www.the-house.com/qfrbwa1...amed-bikes

If you want nice carbon or Ti gravel bike, search the site. These go up in price but for $1818 for Ti Brasswood with carbon wheels, you would be spending $3-4K for something equivalent.

Few important notes: Code code (SAVE15) allowed once per account/email, Freight is $35-50

If your problem are the carbon and Ti bikes with mechanicals, yes agree. Framed cheaped out when everything else on the bike is decent. You are correct.

But dismissing a sub-$1K entry level gravel bike because it has one of the best mechanical brakes out there? Its not they are Tekros like Trek offers on their $1500 bike or Specialized offers on their $1300 bike. This bike is HALF the price of those.
Mechanical brakes is the main reason this is so cheap. There's no upgrade path for hydraulics without replacing the shifters too. If you need something really basic, but better than department store, this could fit the bill.
1x11 is plenty for 99 percent of riders. You have a preference for 1x12, but you absolutely don't need it.

Good job OP on finding this. That Basswood is a well spec'd bike at an outstanding price. The drivetrain, wheel set, saddle, carbon fork..at this price is pretty impressive. I don't need another bike, but a gravel bike would be more attractive than my two road bikes.

I was wondering how long it would take for this to propagate from MTBR over to here. Several other good deals on miscellaneous components also at the-house.

My problem with these gravel bike deals is that the 1x11 drivetrains aren't really enough for me. Add in the cost to upgrade to 1x12 or 2x11 or consider one of the builds already in 1x12 and the bargains are still decent, but not outstanding enough for me to jump on.

There are some hybrid options for upgrades. Apex 1 has a lot of modification options aftermarket to get it working with bigger cassettes and MTB derailleurs too.

Wheels by themselves were 50% off. Similar wheelsets are about $700 street price https://www.the-house.com/qpuc713...ike-wheels

While that's true, replacing the (rear) brake housing with compressionless will make these actuate as direct as it gets, and get pretty close to hydraulic in overall feel. (Source: own a bike with these brakes and two with hydraulic breakers)

Does anyone know where the frames are made on these bikes?

Many people still like mech disk brakes on road bikes. TRP Spyre is one of the best available. Dual side pull, so both brake pads engage rather than just one side like cheap mechs, or Avid BB5/BB7. Very simple to maintain, and provide good enough stopping power for road/gravel.

Or you can upgrade to Hyrd or Juintech with compressionless housing and get 90% of the feel of hydro

Good deal, if the bike fits and it looks like they have not updated their geometry chart in at least a few years. If the ST was not so long compared to the TT and a little longer HT, I would be tempted to buy one. As I have a long torso for my height and prefer slopping top tube bicycles.

Grabbed the lower spec'd one for my first real drop bar bike. I bought a 2021 FX 4 last year and regretted not getting something with drops on longer rides. It also had a 1x11 which I fell in love with so really looking forward to this.
