Yes the Cube also has AI upscaling which also got updated in the same OTA as the new passthrough options, but I haven't seen it so I can't say how much of a difference there is.
Y**T**e ReVanced v17.25.34 (Non-Root) Premium Mod Apk {CracksHash}
Google it I guess. Remove the asteriks i added there. Just install and that's it. You don't sign into it, ever. No ads, plays in background.
I tried comparison by playing old sereis 720p/1080P. ONN android tv is not good on upscaling. do you ever try having shield pro?
please read my post
you are flashing with lineageOS, not original one . ok fair enough due to replacing original android . nightly update is not stable release, I had been using lineageOS and know the drills.
again do you own home theater? ONN android tv can NOT passthrough to my Receive and DO NOT SUPPORT DVr.
please read my post again
my comprision for functionalities, not concern about android tv 13 :-D
* shield can do passthrough , ONN is no bueno,
* sheild have AI upscalling, ONN is no bueno
*shield always having update from nvidia (5-6 times this year for fixes and security update). ONN is only 1-2 update this year. <--- orginal android tv not lineageOS
* shield has DV supports and love it. ONN is no bueno
*
shield has features for home theater, ONN is for simplicity.
if you do not have home theater setting, big screen 4K (mid-top tier tv model), receiver, 7.2 speaker, and dedicated room for your pleasure, you are wasted $$$ buying shields.....
I hope you understand what I am saying, ONN android tv is good for playing to any TV not Home Theater
if you do not understand
* does ONN android tv support DV?
* Does ONN android tv support passthrough?
* Do You ever try to compared shield AI Upscaling to ONN upscaling?
if still not understanding, I totally lost hahah....
Recent years no many activities in SD, not knowing how is cgigate behavior.
at the end, I already pointed 3 major features that ONN android tv do not exist, only on shield (pro) premium hahah. If cgigate still insist it, I totally lost and just ignore cgigate posting for peace and not lowering down to cgigate level :-P
for recent 3 years, I mostly monitoring r3dd1t deals :-D,
have a good holiday season.
if fire cube can compete with shield feature, would like to try to get on and do comparison between shield pro and fire cube. My main force is 2019 shield pro started 3 years ago and happy that achieve my expectations
DD+ Atmos passthrough already worked previously, I haven't seen any specify mention of TrueHD Atmos yet. I've seen it mentioned that passthrough is working in Emby, nothing specifically about Plex.
This update wasn't announced ahead of time by Amazon, so most that own a 3rd gen Cube probably aren't even aware of the new passthrough options.
Hopefully there will be some proper reviews of the new update soon

Ended up getting an Apple TV 4K and am very pleased, just a dumb conduit to the apps I use, third party developers update to that platform first, good Dolby Vision support. Chromecast support back to ye olde Chromecast Ultra.
The important thing is the new Shield remote or "air mouse" ones will work with the old 2017 Shield?
I just did a search to see the difference between the 2017 and 2019/current Shield models. One comparison basically says the new Shields have (1) a 25% faster processor and (2) better remote and they can do (3) Dolby Vision. I can't say for sure if I've played Dolby Vision on my 2017 Shield, but I know 4K, HDR10, Dolby Atmos and all the other formats play just fine. Other than these 3 things, do the newer Shields do anything else the 2017 doesn't?
