Man i really want to order this since it's a decent price, but I got both the 9 and then the 10 and both were returned because both have absolutely terrible connectivity issues. Couldn't use the app and it was a complete nightmare. Tried with 4 different devices and it was the same on all. I've heard the newest ones still have these issues too, it's a shame because the cameras are great, but they're such a huge headache because of this and you lose 90% of the usability.

I did have the subscription. Upgrading to the 9 is a blessing and a curse, because I have a few accessories that will not fit anymore.

Damn I didn't read the terms correctly on thr amex deal. Looks like I have to pay another $40 on accessories to get the $40 back. I guess it is like a free expensive accessory. If I had known I probably wouldn't have gone with this deal. What a waste of time and money.

Same here, what really sucks is the $10 shipping on the accessories. I ordered yesterday but did get the Amex offer confirmation after placing an accessory order.

Returned the GoPro. In low light, it performs really bad. Way worse than iPhone.

Sad that you had your 8 for over a year and when you finally had a chance to use it it was dead.
The good thing about the 9 is that it is contemporary with the redesign. 9,10,11 all use the same battery, dual charger and many of the accessories fit this series. $150 for the camera plus $50 for 1 yr cloud with 1 yr insurance gives me exceptional value. For $200 I got two extra enduro batteries with dual charger, two usb cables, the USB power door and the small case which was included.

I've learned to sell my gopros when they are replaced with a new series. Purchase on sale like this and not waiting too long to upgrade allows recouping a good chunk of what was paid. Electronics go obs really fast so you can't wait too long to turn them over. GoPro Hero 9 Black is still a solid $200 used on CL so I don't see loosing any money here for 12 months of use.

GoPro 11 has a new large sensor. The new G2 fast processor ( which it shares with 10 ) makes it MUCH faster including response to touch screen navigation and file transfer. It has vastly improved performance and lower noise. But the light accessory can be purchased for the 9 for low light which is still a powerful camera. GoPro is a rugged waterproof outdoor camera and a compact system to easily capture and upload video on the fly. I would not compare it to a phone or even another camera which does not offer its unique capabilities.
