I had the S7+ and have the S8+ now.

S7+ , especially early run units, were prone to screen breakage issues. The S8 has moderately better performance but the primary benefit is much, much longer support. Keep in mind that both models can share the same accessories. Battery life may actually be a bit less on the S8+ but peak screen brightness is a little better also. Overall, it's the best tablet I have ever had

Excellent deal! I have had this tablet until I upgraded to the S8 Ultra, which IMO, has no noticeable performance difference.

Yeah the Tab S8s where underclocked/undervolted? because samsung went for "thin" and didn't leave room to cool the super hot Qualcomm 8 Gen 1 chips. Tons of reviews (not shill reviews) talked about this.

This is a great tablet!
Note this model only has 6GB of RAM, you need to upgrade to the 256GB to get 8GB of RAM. I have the 256GB model, and have been very happy with it, it even just got an update that dramatically improved the battery life.šŸ¤ šŸ‘

Yeah, the weight is what is making me hold off on buying this. 1.27lb is a bit too heavy for handheld use, which is how I like to use my tablets as I mostly buy them for media consumption. I never use my tablets propped up on a stand as I'd just use a thin and light laptop at that point.

I bought an S7 FE last year and instantly hated it due to the heave weight. The FE is a tiny bit heavier than the S7+ at 1.34lb, but the two are close enough in weight that I don't think the S7+ would work for me. I wish they had an OLED tablet in the form factor of the S7/S8 or even smaller. It would be so awesome to have a 1lb or lighter OLED tablet with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Basically, and iPad Air or iPad Mini with an OLED display.

You didn't get it for $420. You got it for that, plus the value of whatever you traded in, since that value is lost to you forever. (I.e., you can't sell it and have the cash, plus a $420 S8.)
