Only 75 cents per adapter socket with a lifetime guaranty. I think this is an overlooked deal, as nobody else is really close to this price. Sure, for $8 or $10 you might be able to find a similar generic set with an inferior warranty, but that's 100% more expensive. As an ex, case in point --- HD's Husky 3 pc set, not 4 pc, 3 pc set is $14.97. HD sells a 4 pc Tekton set for $18. Amazon, eBay, Lowe's, Walmart, Advance Auto... none could beat HFT's price.
  • Triple Chrome Plating
  • Lifetime Guaranty
  • Made in Taiwan
  • Conents: 1/4 in. drive 3/8 in. adapter, 3/8 in. drive 1/4 in. and 1/2 in. adapters, and 1/2 in. drive 3/8 in. adapter

Had this set and one adapter snapped immediately upon first use. Was not even applying extreme pressure. Returned immediately.

Same thing happened to me. I thought lifetime warranty mean it would last longer than 2 seconds...had to go back back for a full refund and went to Sears and purchased Craftsman instead.

meanwhile I had tekton adapters and I used to remove wheel which 21mm with 3/8 breaker and 1/2" socket. Definitely dont cheap on these as they need to take massive loads.

If you guys broke the 1/2 input to 3/8 output size, then you can add me to that list, as well. I broke one, too. When you use a 1/2" ratchet drive input on a 3/8" anvil, there can be a massive amount of torque that will break many adapters. That's why you usually want a few good quality cheap sets with good lifetime guarantees. Out of 2573 reviews on HFT's website 2,407 gave this set a 4 or 5 star rating.

If you want something better, I was looking on Snap-On's website, and it's funny, but I'm guessing too many techs must have broken their 1/2 to 3/8 chrome adapters because it doesn't look like Snappy even sells them in chrome. They DO have one, Made in USA, in black phosphorus for $25.50 (plus shipping): https://shop.snapon.com/product/A...tor/GSAF1F

or

Ko-ken has a Made in Japan chromed 3/8 to 1/2 adapter socket for $11.56, and with Free Shipping. So, good deal with free shipping for less than $12 for a Ko-ken. Although, good luck on that warranty - not clear how good Ko-ken is on warrantying broken sockets (esp this one).

I've got to ask, what planet does a Sears exist on in 2022?

Unlike the other reports above, the Pittsburgh adapters have worked well for me. Even the 1/2 to 3/8 model (referenced above) has yet to fail; I use a 1/2 breaker bar + 3/8 drive 17mm socket to remove the notoriously tough Honda transmission fill bolt. Of course, my adapters are about 10 y.o. so it is possible that the newer models are weaker???

I've bought a lot of stuff at HF when needed but anything that relies on the strength of high quality steel is a no-go. I don't know if they are cutting it with some butter or what, but I've had their punches shatter into a million pieces, socket reducers sheer off with comically low effort, crowbar simply bend like warm wax, etc.

I'll buy their moving blankets and stuff but am very leery of anything high torque or high pressure.

For this particular tool I've had great luck with a made in TW Gear Wrench impact reducer set. I can use my 1/2" impact gun, or whack the breaker bar with a mini-sledge and they've held up. Lifetime warranty, though I haven't gone through that process to see what it involves.
