For those interested, the 5g version is on sale for $199: https://www.motorola.com/us/smart...?skuId=619 This version has double the memory, 256gb instead of 128 and expandable to 1 tb instead of 512 gb (non 5g version). Also has a larger battery 5000 mah instead of the 4000 mah. 6 gb of RAM vs 4 gb with non 5g. If you have a trade, makes it $159 - well worth the extra $30 from the non 5g version. Also 5g version comes with Android 11, while the non 5g has Android 10. Hope this helps.

Google and Samsung killed external storage because there was a brief period where there was a security exploit.

They continued it because it's cheaper to leave out the slot, but more importantly, because people were throwing in cheap SD cards and then complaining about slow performance.

Android still supports external storage via USB-C, network mounted directories, and SD slots where available.

First post on here, going to bed now, hopefully I don't wake up to a ton of "you did it wrong" comments.
Seems to be a cheap price, especially compared to phones at the same price with 32GB. Tempted to get it as a gift.

Garbage. My wife got one for Black Friday and it was just returned. Turns out the data cuts off and basically the phone becomes useless. Google the phone and "call drop" and read the Lenovo forums.
Yeah, I really liked Motorola until the Lenovo purchase. Lenovo has kept the budget phones flowing but I've had issues with too many over the years. I've had great experiences with their warranty service but I've had to use it too many times.

Junk phone. I got one for my wife and it gets slower and slower with each update. Recently, it has started randomly rebooting itself.

could not agree more. Looked good from far, but is far from good.
Motorola has chromic microphone and camera problems. I do not know why they do not fix these problem areas.

Is it compatible with Cricket Wireless? Does it have NFC for Google Pay payments?

haven't seen many phone deals recently. Anyone knows if the industry stopped creating new models or we are at the point where everything is expensive and no phone deals can be had?

Majority of Motorola phones traditionally do not have NFC. Only a couple of models have that option and those are $$$.

Bought it for my wife about a year ago. It was about $250 then. Great device, no problem at all, huge screen. My wife loves it dearly

The mic and reception issues are what turned me off to Lenovo. Couldn't even use the speakerphone on my 2020 Stylus because the caller would only hear every other word. Same thing with my 2021 Power. The last solid Moto I had was the E4 and that even had a weak antenna. The original Moto G was a fantastic phone that I still use as a MP3 player.

I've had a Moto G7 for a couple years and it's been decent. These are not flagship phones by any means. I guess I will be on Android 10 forever though, Moto isn't real big on updates.

Not a good advice. I would go with a lower end (slower phone) with latest OS and security updates instead of a phone with great specs and outdated software.

Why get this when the 2022 version is free with only a $40 first month at Metro? Drawer it, and it will auto-unlock at 6 months of initial activation.

Does the option Activate Now or Activate Later mean to buy the plan additionally; otherwise, the phone cannot be used by any SIM card?

Google never had a phone with memory card slot. It's a scam by the phone companies to sell cloud storage. The same reason they took away the fm radio to sell Spotify Pandora, removed the headphone jack to sell the true wireless earbuds etc. I just switched to all these bullshit hey if I have less options on my phone and you all are going to imitate apple's tactics I better atleast use iOS device. Honestly I didn't like it in the beginning but overall seems iOS does very well. Like android auto will refuse to act doesn't matter what phone it was, like they won't connect when I needed it but will connect later fine. Never had an issue with my iPhone apple car play works 100 percent of the time. Also you can open maps on your phone and search something while connected to carplay but you can't load up maps when you are connected to Android auto!!
What are you on about? I have a brand new Kia with FM radio and the car's navigation (free), Plus Android Auto with Waze (my favorite), Google Maps, or whatever other map system I would want to use that supports Android Auto. Please calm down lol they aren't all out to get you. I love my Android Auto except not being able to search through music tracks. But Car Play doesn't let you do that either so what the frack ever. My girlfriend has an iPhone and she can't open maps on her phone when connected to Car Play. It's a fracking safety feature not a scam lmao.

Are you an Apple shill or just a fanboy?
