Never ever ever ever buy spark plugs from Amazon. For one thing, there are too many counterfeit sparkplugs being sold there. Think what does it matter? Heat range matters, materials matter. These things are literally being installed into your cylinder, if it breaks apart you're looking at major damage to your engine. Lastly, Amazon ships these things horribly. They will literally toss them loosely in a box for them to smash around during the shipping process and very very often this cracks the ceramic insulator which will cause an intermittent misfire. Stop buying auto parts from Amazon.

I would agree with this sentiment. There are certain things you don't buy from Amazon, and they include spark plugs, O2 sensors, Under Armor, etc Amazon has such an issue with counterfeit goods that it's not worth the gamble. Hit up rockauto and pay the $4 shipping.

100% backing this. Got some amazon plugs for a little 2.0 ecotec and every single one broke off at hand tightening.

Even if it is shipped and sold by Amazon? As it is in this case.

Yes, even if shipped and sold by Amazon you risk counterfeit parts and damaged insulators. Buy your auto parts, spark plugs especially from a reputable source and locally. Avoid having spark plugs shipped as they are often damaged during shipping. It's very hard to see cracks in the insulator until they've been installed and used in which case you'll see marks on the insulator where it's arcing through. Plugs shipped to stores are better protected and not just thrown in a box to be destroyed by your UPS/Fedex/USPS delivery guy.
In the end, do what you want, I'm just here to warn. People are really willing to damage an engine that probably costs anywhere between 8 and 15 thousand dollars to replace in order to save 12 dollars on spark plugs. Makes sense to me.
Lots of don't buy from Amazon. So where do you buy from? I bought from rock auto .com but the plugs was shipped from a small local shop and I don't know if they are counterfeit.

Rock Auto is reputable. I always go with either them or my dealer, depending on price/urgency. Every dealership I've used will happily price match anything online and quality is guaranteed. Never Amazon/Ebay.
I rolled the dice and purchased a set of NGK iridiums off Amazon. Never again. Even though they seem to pass the counterfeit check (packaging, threads look very smooth and clean, etc), 4 plugs came in 3 separate shipments, in different days.

+1
I bought some off amazon a few years back out of necessity. The insulator on my plug broke and the nearest auto store was 5 or more miles away, but only way to get there was the freeway. Got them the next day and comparing them to the NGKs in my car, the quality looked off.
On the NGK website, they actually have a page for identifying counterfeit plugs and these checked every box. I did end up getting a ride over to Autozone and getting my plugs, which ended up only costing me and extra 50cents per plug.
Amazon refunded the money and initially wanted me to return the item to the seller, but when I replied "Can I send it back in the original bubble wrap, tape it up and slap a new label on it" they ended up telling me I didn't need to send it back and refunded me the money. I still have them sitting in my glovebox, not so much for an emergency, but as a conversation piece. Last thing I want is to extract a broken spark plug from my head. lol

Unfortunately, yes.
Issue is, except for FEW items (items that were requested by manufacturers TO Amazon due to fakes), Amazon will be binning the 3rd party items and Amazon's own items in same bin as long as they have same SKU number which is the case for many of the fake items. So, is there a chance you will get a genuine item? Yes, is there chance you get a fake item? Also Yes.
Besides, for these, you don't really save much $$ to begin with to take chance IMHO.
As much as I hate to say it when it comes to things like this... the dealership parts department is your friend.
TIP: Don't be afraid to ask them to discount the parts. I've been able to get them to knock off 10%-15% many times. It all depends on the dealer, how often you buy and how much you spend but you never know till you try...
Some things aren't worth the risk and Amazon is too risky

The plugs in that video were sold as "Amazon's choice" and were fake made in china junk.
