Your opinion, regardless of how valid, has nothing to do with this post being a deal for this product. It's like commenting "this is so bad for you" on a post of candy bars.

Pokemon has been around since, what, 1995?

I doubt its going away. Its fun for kids and teaches them basic CCG gameplay. There are far worse things for young folks to be involved with....

Not a collector myself, I only buy for my kids casually, but other commenters have said if you can get the average pack cost down near or under 3 dollars it is a good buy.

Sam's has this deal right now https://www.samsclub.com/p/pokemo.../P03010010 which contains 14 packs for $40. of course the pack variety may matter to some.

this deal only has 7 packs for 30, and i believe it's safe to consider most of the promo stuff that comes with these boxes as worth very little

This has happened to me with sweaters, I brought the receipt in and they put the money back on my credit card.

These cards are the definition of a money pit. There's an infinite number, and somehow they're never enough and never the right ones. Can't wait for my kids to get over these.

Just buy single cards from eBay or tcgplayer if your kids only want the hits.

The difference with the Shining Fates set is that these and other promo boxes are the only way to get them. It's also out of print.

Is this a new/re release? I thought Shining Fates was discontinued awhile ago.

And for the parents wondering... kids are after the booster packs. For example, this box has 7 booster packs. The more packs per box, tin, bundle, the better. And Pokemon cards have series. This box in this listing is from the Shining Fates series. This series has been around, so I'm curious if this is a rerelease, nothing wrong with that if it is. The most recent series is "Silver Tempest" I believe. At Game Stop, there's a 6-pack Booster Bundle for $17.95 right now which is a slick deal in my opinion. Most pokemon card stuff is on sale right now at GS.

Happy shopping!
