No, he said that the oscillating tool is overkill for infrequent use. I agree, and I also prefer the oscillating tool.
Overkill for infrequent use, but an oscillating tool is much better in my experience. It cuts much more precisely, and you can easily control the depth of the cut if you're worried about slicing into any electrical or plumbing. It's also much easier to make fine adjustments to your cuts if you make a mistake. I finally just got rid of my jab saw earlier this year because I never touched it anymore.

boy. oscilating tool for drywall. no thanks. most will blow around too much dust and blades are... extra. if the drywall isn't hung, score the paper on one side,
snap the gypsum board, cut the paper in opposite side.

if it's on wall, the slickest thing is measure your drywall thickness, cut/ snap a jigsaw blade to depth, and let it rip. can do it with a recip saw too I suppose.

rotozip tools work, but I don't like them.

jab saws are great but if you have health issues or a lot of work it can be excessive. most people will be okay with a jab saw. not specifically this one, I hate Amazon basics stuff, the little I've had because it was severely clearance, and the stuff I've seen browsing. not that jabs are complex.

Based on the comments, seems most don't like jabs anymore. Maybe more Covid fallout?

What trade do you work in that wallboard saw is overkill?

That's like saying owning a screwdriver is overkill because you have an impact driver.
