snap the gypsum board, cut the paper in opposite side.
if it's on wall, the slickest thing is measure your drywall thickness, cut/ snap a jigsaw blade to depth, and let it rip. can do it with a recip saw too I suppose.
rotozip tools work, but I don't like them.
jab saws are great but if you have health issues or a lot of work it can be excessive. most people will be okay with a jab saw. not specifically this one, I hate Amazon basics stuff, the little I've had because it was severely clearance, and the stuff I've seen browsing. not that jabs are complex.

Nobody is suggesting using an oscillating tool to cut drywall to size.
The main uses are for making cutouts for pre-marked openings and undercutting the bottom on vertical installs.
The blades also last forever since drywall cuts like butter.
Go watch a couple YouTube videos on the subject and you'll wonder why you don't have an oscillating multi-tool yet.
