I think this is the lowest price I have ever seen on this machine from Direct Tool Outlet. Since the shipping of $14.99 is flat you might want to buy some other items. Everything is 25% off site wide and 35% if refurbished.

I've been eyeing planers for years to add to my tools and I almost went with the ryobi as it was 20 bucks less. But this price and having three cutting blades put me over. Great deal, thanks!

Wow, great price. That's the lowest price I can remember seeing for this ridgid planer. I paid around $240 for mine 3 years ago from DTO.

Is yours still running well? Bought mine earlier in the year from DTO and considering upgrading to the helical blades. They're $400-500 and for that price the other option is upgrade to the Dewalt 735

Nice price but not sure how I'd feel about a unit not protected by the LSA. Mine performs well but I had to drop it for repair shortly after I got it.

Unfortunately, I've never even tried it out. It's been in the original DTO box, since I bought it.
I've never owned a planer before and figured it was a good price point to get my feet wet, but have just never gotten around to using it.

I had this planer and I wouldn't recommend buying it refurbished. Mine had to be replaced. Since I bought it factory blemished it was replaced for free under their LSA (Lifetime Service Agreement). If I had bought refurbished I'd have just been out of luck.

For the tools Ridgid makes, this is one of the most disappointing... actually, it's their worst tool. So much so, that I wouldn't be surprised if in the world there were more refurbished than new ones.

It's bizarre as since all the planers of this type are so similar. Yet this one seems to be cursed.

Take some time to read honest reviews of people that have had this planer. It is like it has a 1,000BF lifespan before something dies on it.

So yeah... in for 1. Lmao. Sell it for $300 locally, and call it a day lol.

edit: nevermind. sold out 🤔

I'd definitely upgrade to the 735. It's night and day compared to any other planer under $1,200.
You won't need the helix, but it sure is nice to have.

Any other helical blade on a planer is a waste unless it's over $1200.

(Funny seeing people buying that Oliver planer lately. The YouTube Woodworking trenders, strike again.)

I just got my RIDGID planer and it was in really bad shape. They shipped the big heavy tool in a box with zero foam or padding. Beaten up, scratched, gauge bent, case bent, plastic broken, and who knows what else. Really bummed out. Merry Xmas to me. Never buying recon from DTO again.
