Wow that worked! I will rep. you. In case the SD link above doesn't work, after you login as SmartSeed says, copy and paste this URL in your browser. https://tps.fidelity.com/tps-api/v1/redirect-to/turbo-tax-cd?fidelityContextCode=oltx
Then I logged into Intuit. It showed up as $105, but I did the trick someone else suggested to add a random Intuit product to the cart, then delete it. Then I was able to check out for $5.41 (tax in TX).
i got so many messages about this. let me answer you all here once in for all. you need to go the beta view to see the offer.
I have the premier offer under the beta view, but when I click to the turbotax website it still gives me only $20 off, even though fidelity says premier for free w/ state. Called Fidelity, they know about the issue and said to wait until the new year as they are working on the problem.

I got the offer and then I click the link from Fidelity account. On the Intuit site, I choose 'Do it myself/download'. But I got 'Oops, we got an error. Please try again later!.' Anyone else?
Not sure if it'll help anyone but military and I think veterans get turbotax free. Also if you're not committed to TurboTax, I switched to FreeTaxUSA and worked just fine. No payments or hidden fees.

Anyone who purchased the download version for $5, did you need to first create an Intuit account online first or log into your account first if you have one already? I don't have an Intuit account at this moment, but I got 'Oops, we hit a snag/got an error. Please try again later!.' message when trying to make the purchase. I am not sure if it has anything to do with me not having an Intuit account.
It looks like the online version includes State efile, but it looks like the download version you get state free, but pay for efile. Am I reading it wrong?
I really. really, really hate the online version, and am used to the download version. I would pay the $5 for the download version but I may consider the online version if I can save the efile fee.
It looks like you get 5 Federal Efiles with the download version and 1 with the online? I can't confirm though, the site is very confusing with differing amounts in different places. The State efile is $20 each.
I think I'm going to go for the download version after all since my kids have to file as well.

In addition to Premium Services account, you need to be assigned to a financial advisor. The Fidelity representative said it is a new requirement for free Turbo Tax Premier.
If you have a Fidelity broker, you can stop by their office and get a code for free. They're about the size of a post card with a code printed on one side and you enter it at turbotax.com
I'm not sure if it's just the online version or the download version.

I already had an account so I don't know if you _need_ to, but one of the benefits is that the license key gets stored with your account. Makes it easier to install an older version if you need to at some point.

Thanks.

How do veterans get it free?
$5 CD/Download version says good for 5 e-files. Not seeing an e-file quantity on the free online version.

Also, you must be in the Beta View of the Fidelity page to even see the offer.
And thank you OP, as you saved me $50!
It is a toggle switch on the fidelity portfolio page which switches on a new and maybe improved version of the page.
