Contact Samsung chat, tell them that you're not getting verification emails to your edu account. They'll send you the cart link with the EPP or student discount price. It worked for me in that past. Good luck.

I got the 43" version last week for 299, not sure if it's still available but it seemed like a heckuva deal. Only drawback I've seen so far is no DVI, it's nice to have integrated speakers too. The colors (again 43" here) tend to soften due to the angle when looking at the edges, but the black is fantastic for text / web page reading. This is when you keep your head dead center, if you move left / right everything is as expected.

You can get the discount with their employee offers program as well.. as long as your place of work is eligible.. I work for a hospital and it worked for me.. Make sure you create an account with your work email.. Very important.

I got the Samsung soundbar S800B for $300 plus tax a few days ago.. Still retails for $599.99 on Best Buy and Amazon.

Fyi, these are VA panels unsuitable for video creation and anything fast moving and its max 300 nits. HDR requires 400 minimum. Which means you can play content but you will not see the full details you are meant to see at higher nit counts.

While these deals have been great it's been super frustrating to see them then realize they are EPP/EDU deals.

I use the 43" M7 and love it. Handy that it also delivers power over USB c and acts as a limited usb hub. I plug in one cable that goes to the monitor and I get power, keyboard & mouse, and 4k 60hz.

I have mixed feelings on the matter. On the one hand, lying to get deals is sleazy. On the other, Samsung offering deals only to people who do happen to do a certain job is also sleazy. As if people who who in education are any more valuable than construction workers, plumbers, electricians, accountants, etc. In conclusion, lie away lol. Sleazy policy begets sleazy behavior.

Considering the cheaper, older M5 at $150. It would be used in a small bed nook as an extra TV that doubles as a monitor for super light WFH use (e.g,, emails/DMs, word docs, spreadsheets). It's FHD, not 4K.

I'm not tech savvy and really don't want to deal with complicated setup and fine-tuning. Seems like the resolution would work for viewing 3-4 feet away but I do have a couple Macbooks - one intel and one M1 Max - that I might want to connect and feel totally confused about what I'm reading here and elsewhere about Macs and external monitors.

Is this a terrible idea? Anyone have thoughts or experiences? I'd really appreciate whatever you have to share Smilie

I don't think there is a list.. but I finally decided to give it try and create an account with my hospital work email without doing that crap ID.me.

As soon as I verified my work email with a code Samsung sent to it.. I was good to go.. Wish I would have realized before.. I lost a lot Samsung deals thinking I needed a freaking .edu account.. Shit, I left college 20 years ago!!!/
